No bet. Stonehill has one road game against an FBS team, too few for our number to price this one.
Ohio is a 34.5-point favourite over Stonehill at DraftKings, and the line has not moved since it opened. Our number is Ohio by 17.9, 16.6 points short of the line. It makes no bet. The method needs at least 4 games in each sample before it prices a side, and Stonehill has 1.
How the number is built
The method is one clause: our number is half the difference between the home team’s average margin at home and the visitor’s average margin on the road, against FBS teams only, 2025 and 2026 together.
Ohio is 6-0 at home against FBS teams over that span, winning by 13.8 points a game across 6 games. Stonehill is 0-1 on the road against FBS teams, losing by 22.0 in 1 game. The difference is 35.8 points. Half of it is 17.9.
One game is the whole Stonehill sample
Stonehill plays outside the FBS, so the method has almost nothing to go on for this side. It played no FBS team in 2025. Its one FBS game is the 36-14 loss at Massachusetts on 19 September, and one game proves little.
Its other three games this season came against teams outside the FBS. It lost 24-6 to Bryant at home, won 21-3 at New Haven and lost 42-35 at New Hampshire. It is 1-3, has scored 19.0 a game and allowed 26.2.
That is why this page makes no bet. Our number is built on one 22-point loss, set against a 34.5-point spread, and one game cannot price that.
Ohio at home
Ohio has won all six of its home games against FBS teams in 2025 and 2026. The margins were 7 over West Virginia, 15 over Bowling Green, 27 over Northern Illinois, 4 over Miami (OH), 28 over Massachusetts and 2 over Jacksonville State on 12 September.
The largest of the six is 28. The spread asks for 35.
The two teams share one opponent. Ohio beat Massachusetts 42-14 at home on 18 November 2025; Stonehill lost 36-14 at Massachusetts this season. Different venues and different seasons: treat it as a comparison only.
2026 so far
Ohio is 1-2, all three against FBS teams. It lost 49-21 at Nebraska, beat Jacksonville State 29-27 and lost 41-36 at South Alabama on 19 September. It has scored 28.7 a game and allowed 39.0.
That 39.0 allowed is the number to set beside the spread. A defence giving up that much has not yet held an FBS opponent under 27 this season.
Last season
Ohio went 9-4 in 2025, won by 5.8 a game and went 6-0 at home. It ended with a 17-10 win over UNLV on 23 December. Stonehill went 4-8 and was outscored by 8.0 a game.
The two teams did not meet in 2025 or so far in 2026.
The price
Ohio is -34.5, the same as at the open, read 24 September 2026 at 04:29 UTC at DraftKings via ESPN. Both sides are priced at -110.
The moneyline has Ohio at -50000 and Stonehill at +4000, unchanged from the open. With the margin removed, that prices Ohio to win 97.6% of the time. ESPN’s FPI has Ohio at 96.8%.
The winner is not in question. The margin is.
Pick: no bet
No bet on the spread. Our number rests on 7 games, split 6 and 1, and the method makes no bet when either sample is under 4 games.
Stonehill’s 1 is the 36-14 loss at Massachusetts. Ohio’s six home wins over FBS teams top out at 28, short of this spread, but a 16.6-point gap resting on one Stonehill game is too little to price.
What changes it
More road games against FBS teams for Stonehill. It needs three more to reach 4, and this one would be its second.
A move in the line only changes the gap. At 34.5 the gap is 16.6 points, and it still rests on one Stonehill game.
The total
The total is 50.5, unchanged from the open, over and under both at -110.
Against FBS teams across 2025 and 2026, Ohio’s games went over 50.5 in 8 of 15. Stonehill’s one FBS game produced exactly 50. Ohio’s three games this season produced 70, 56 and 77 points; Stonehill’s four produced 30, 24, 77 and 50.
Pass on the total at 50.5. Ohio’s 2026 games all went over, but its full sample is 8 over in 15, close to half.
