Panthers vs Blackhawks Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

Bet the Blackhawks to win at home. Our number makes Chicago a 46.3% winner against the price’s 38.4%.

The Chicago Blackhawks are +150 and the Florida Panthers -180 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 38.4% for Chicago and 61.6% for Florida. The price makes the visitors a clear favourite. Our number has Florida ahead too, at 53.7%, but by much less.

How 46.3% is reached

Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Neutral-site games are left out of both.

The Blackhawks went 14-19-8 at United Center, a 34.1% home win rate. The Panthers went 17-23-1 away from home, a 58.5% road loss rate. Average the two and Chicago is 46.3%, Florida 53.7%. That is 7.9 points better for Chicago than the price.

A side is a bet when our number and the market’s differ by at least 5 points. This gap clears that by a margin the price would have to move to erase.

The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At +150 and -180 they come to 104.3%. Taken out, the Blackhawks are 38.4% and the Panthers 61.6%.

Every input is from 2025-26. This season is not in the figures. Chicago is 3-7-0, 3-3-0 at home, and lost 4-1 to Montreal at home on Friday 23 October. Spencer Knight has played eight of their games and Arvid Soderblom two. Florida is 5-4-2, 3-3-2 on the road, and lost 4-0 in Pittsburgh on Thursday 22 October. Jacob Markstrom has played six of their games, Akira Schmid five and Cooper Black one. Markstrom is now on injured reserve.

Chicago at home, Florida on the road

The two halves the method uses were both losing halves. The Blackhawks at home scored 2.61 a game and allowed 3.29, a deficit of 0.68. The Panthers on the road scored 2.88 and allowed 3.73, a deficit of 0.85.

The halves the method leaves out: Chicago on the road went 15-20-6, a 36.6% win rate, scoring 2.59 and allowing 3.41. Florida at home went 23-14-3, 57.5%, scoring 3.3 and allowing 2.95. The Panthers were a winning team in Sunrise and a losing one everywhere else, and only the second version is in our number.

Neither team made the playoffs. Florida went 40-38-4 with 84 points and was outscored by 25. Chicago went 29-39-14 with 72 points and was outscored by 62, at 2.6 goals for and 3.35 against a game.

Florida’s record leaned on close games. The Panthers went 21-6-4 in one-goal games and won 8 of the 12 that went past regulation. Chicago went 13-8-14 in one-goal games and won 7 of its 21 past 60 minutes. The Blackhawks lost by two goals or more in 31 of 82 games; the Panthers did so in 32 of 82.

Florida won both meetings in 2025-26. The 3-2 win on Tuesday 7 October 2025 was in Florida and is in neither half of our number. The 5-1 Panthers win at United Center on Sunday 25 January 2026 is in both halves: Chicago’s home games and Florida’s road games.

Pick: Blackhawks +150

Bet the Blackhawks on the moneyline at +150. The gap is 7.9 points toward Chicago, against a threshold of 5.

The line read Blackhawks +150 and Panthers -180 on 24 October 2026 at 19:03 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same prices, +150 and -180, and has not moved.

What kills the bet

A shorter Chicago price. At +142 or longer the Blackhawks are a bet whatever Florida is priced at; against Florida at -180, they stay a bet down to +121.

For the Panthers to become the bet, they would have to be +163 or longer against Chicago at +150, or +106 or longer whatever Chicago is priced at. They are -180.

The rest is on the ice, and none of it is in our number. ESPN’s injury list has four Panthers on injured reserve: goalie Jacob Markstrom (upper body), Aleksander Barkov (lower body), Brad Marchand (leg) and Jonah Gadjovich (upper body). Gustav Forsling is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Chicago lists Bowen Byram as day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Check the lineups before you bet.

The total and the puck line

The total is 6.5, over -105 and under -115. The Blackhawks’ games went over 6.5 in 33 of 82, the Panthers’ in 42 of 82. Chicago’s home games averaged 5.9 goals, Florida’s road games 6.61.

That is 40.2% and 51.2%, an average of 45.7% for the over. With the margin removed the over is priced at 48.9% and the under at 51.1%, so our number leans to the under by 3.2 points. That is under the threshold. Pass on the total.

On the puck line, Florida is -1.5 at +124 and Chicago +1.5 at -148, which is 42.8% and 57.2% without the margin. Over the full season the Panthers won by two goals or more in 19 of 82 games, and the Blackhawks lost by two or more in 31 of 82. Averaged, Panthers -1.5 lands 30.5% of the time against 42.8% priced, a gap of 12.3 points toward Blackhawks +1.5 at -148. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean, on the same side. One bet on this game: the Blackhawks at +150.
