Blues vs Predators Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
No bet on the Predators at -115. Our number leans to Nashville by 3.2 points, and the bar for a bet is 5.
The Nashville Predators are -115 and the St. Louis Blues -105 at DraftKings. Strip out the margin and the market makes Nashville 51.1% and St. Louis 48.9%. Our number has the Predators at 54.3%. Both counts make Nashville the likelier winner; ours is the keener of the two, and not by enough.
Where 54.3% comes from
Our home win chance averages two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own building and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. An overtime or shootout win counts as a win. Games at a neutral site sit in neither half: Nashville’s two games against Pittsburgh in Stockholm are out of both of its halves, and St. Louis played none.
Nashville went 20-17-3 at Bridgestone Arena: 20 wins, 17 regulation losses, 3 losses after regulation. That is a 50.0% home win rate over 40 games. St. Louis went 17-19-5 on the road and lost 24 of 41, a 58.5% road loss rate. Average the two and Nashville comes out at 54.3%, St. Louis at 45.7%.
So the lean comes from the Blues’ road record more than from anything Nashville did at home. The Predators won exactly half their home games.
The margin is the cushion a book adds to both prices, so the pair adds to more than 100%. At -115 and -105 the two add to 104.7%. Removed, the Predators are 51.1% and the Blues 48.9%.
A 3.2-point lean built on last season’s home and road records deserves no more trust than its inputs: 40 Nashville home games and 41 St. Louis road games, none of them from this season. Both teams lost on Thursday. St. Louis is 3-3-1 and lost 5-4 in Minnesota. Nashville is 2-2-3 and lost 3-2 to San Jose in a shootout at home. Neither score is in the figures.
Nashville at home, St. Louis on the road
Neither half outscored its opponents. At home the Predators scored 3.12 a game and allowed 3.27, outscored by 0.15. The Blues on the road scored 2.80 and allowed 3.22, outscored by 0.42.
The other halves: Nashville went 17-16-7 on the road, a 42.5% win rate, scoring 3.00 and allowing 3.33. St. Louis was 20-14-7 at home, 48.8%, scoring 2.83 and allowing 3.07. The method reads only the Predators’ home half and the Blues’ road half.
Across the whole season there was nothing between them. Both finished with 86 points. Nashville went 38-34-10 and was outscored by 22; St. Louis went 37-33-12 and was outscored by 27. Neither reached the playoffs.
Where they differ is past regulation. Nashville went 20 times beyond 60 minutes and won 10; St. Louis went 16 times and won 4. In one-goal games the Predators were 20-8-10 and the Blues 18-9-12. Nashville won 18 of its 38 games by two goals or more, St. Louis 19 of its 37.
Nashville won three of the four meetings in 2025-26. Two were at Bridgestone Arena: the Predators won 7-2 on 11 December and 6-5 on 2 February. Those two are the meetings in our number, Nashville home games and St. Louis road games. In St. Louis the Predators won 5-2 on 15 December and the Blues won 3-2 on 27 December; both fall in neither half.
Pick: No bet on the Predators -115
Pass on the moneyline. The gap is 3.2 points toward Nashville, and the threshold is 5.
The line opened at Predators -115 and Blues -105 and had not moved when it was read on 16 October 2026 at 15:38 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN.
What makes it a bet
Nashville as the underdog. Against the Blues at -105, the Predators at +101 would clear the bar. At +103 or longer Nashville is a bet whatever St. Louis is priced at.
The Blues need a far bigger move: +146 or longer before they become the bet, and they are -105.
Price is one unknown; the lineups are the other. This page states nothing about who plays for either team on 17 October. Check both before you bet.
The total and the puck line
The total is 5.5, over -130 and under +110. The Predators’ games went over 5.5 in 44 of 82, the Blues’ in 39 of 82. Nashville’s home games averaged 6.39 goals, St. Louis’s road games 6.02.
That is 53.7% and 47.6%, an average of 50.6% for the over. With the margin removed the over is priced at 54.3% and the under at 45.7%, so our number leans to the under, by 3.7 points. Short of 5. Pass on the total.
The puck line leans the other way from the moneyline. Nashville is -1.5 at +205 and St. Louis +1.5 at -250, which is 31.5% and 68.5% without the margin. The Predators won by two goals or more in 18 of 82 games. The Blues lost by two or more in 24 of 82. Averaged, Nashville -1.5 lands 25.6% of the time against 31.5% priced, a gap of 5.9 points toward Blues +1.5. The two leans fit together: Nashville the likelier winner, by a single goal. Our method bets the moneyline only, so this is a lean, not a bet: Blues +1.5 at -250. The call on the game stays no bet.
