Golden Knights vs Blue Jackets Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Bet the Blue Jackets on the moneyline. Our number makes Columbus a 51.2% winner at home. The price makes them 44.9%.
The Columbus Blue Jackets are +114 and the Vegas Golden Knights -135 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 44.9% for Columbus and 55.1% for Vegas. The market has the visitors as the favourite. Our number has the home team slightly ahead.
How 51.2% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Neutral-site games are left out of both.
The Blue Jackets went 20-13-8 at Nationwide Arena, a 48.8% home win rate. The Golden Knights went 19-14-8 on the road, a 53.7% road loss rate. The average is 51.2% for Columbus and 48.8% for Vegas. That puts Columbus 6.3 points ahead of the price.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At +114 and -135 they come to 104.2%. With it removed, the Blue Jackets are 44.9% and the Golden Knights 55.1%.
Every input is from 2025-26. This season is not in the figures. Columbus is 3-5-0, 3-3-0 at home, and lost 6-2 to Toronto at home on Tuesday 20 October. Jet Greaves has appeared in six of their games and Cam Talbot in four. Vegas is 8-4-0, 3-2-0 on the road, and lost 6-2 in St. Louis on Thursday 22 October. Carter Hart has appeared in seven of their games and Adin Hill in five. None of that is inside the method.
Columbus at home, Vegas on the road
The Blue Jackets at home scored 3.29 a game and allowed 3.07, a surplus of 0.22. The Golden Knights on the road scored 2.90 and allowed 3.00, a deficit of 0.10. Those two halves are the whole of our number.
The halves the method leaves out: Columbus on the road went 20-17-4, a 48.8% win rate, scoring 2.88 and allowing 3.10. Vegas at home went 20-12-9, also 48.8%, scoring 3.56 and allowing 3.10. The Golden Knights’ best scoring came in their own arena. That half is not in our number.
The season around it
Vegas finished 2025-26 at 39-26-17 with 95 points and a goal difference of +15. In the playoffs they beat the Utah Mammoth 4-2, the Anaheim Ducks 4-2 and the Colorado Avalanche 4-0, then lost 4-2 to the Carolina Hurricanes. Columbus went 40-30-12 with 92 points. The Blue Jackets scored 3.09 a game and allowed 3.09, a goal difference of 0, and missed the playoffs.
Columbus went 18-13-12 in one-goal games and won 12 of the 24 that went past regulation. Vegas went 16-10-17 in one-goal games and won 9 of its 26 past 60 minutes. The Blue Jackets lost by two goals or more in 17 of 82 games. The Golden Knights lost by that margin in 16 of 82.
Vegas won both meetings in 2025-26. The first, 3-2 in Columbus on Saturday 13 December 2025, is inside both halves of our number. The second, 5-3 in Vegas on Thursday 8 January 2026, is in neither.
Pick: Blue Jackets +114
Bet the Blue Jackets on the moneyline at +114. The gap is 6.3 points toward Columbus against a threshold of 5 points. Below 5 we pass.
The line read Blue Jackets +114 and Golden Knights -135 on 24 October 2026 at 00:40 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same prices, +114 and -135, and has not moved.
What kills the bet
A shorter Columbus price. At +117 or longer the Blue Jackets are a bet whatever Vegas is priced at. At +114 they are a bet because Vegas is -135; against that price, Columbus stays a bet down to +103. Below +103 the gap falls under 5 and the call is a pass.
For the Golden Knights to become the bet, they would have to be +129 or longer whatever Columbus is priced at, or +175 or longer against Columbus at +114. They are -135.
ESPN’s injury list, read 24 October 2026 at 00:40 UTC, has Mitch Marner day-to-day for personal reasons and Parker Wotherspoon on injured reserve with an upper-body injury, both for Vegas. Columbus lists no one. No goalie is on either list. Marner’s status is not in our number and does not change the call. Check the lineups before you bet.
The total and the puck line
The total is 6.5, over +110 and under -130. Columbus games went over 6.5 in 37 of 82, a 45.1% rate. Vegas games went over in 38 of 82, 46.3%. Columbus home games averaged 6.36 goals and Vegas road games 5.90.
The average is 45.7% for the over. With the margin removed, the market prices the over at 45.7% and the under at 54.3%. The gap is 0.0 points. Pass on the total.
On the puck line, Vegas is -1.5 at +180 and Columbus +1.5 at -218, which is 34.3% and 65.7% without the margin. Over the full season the Golden Knights won by two goals or more in 23 of 82 games, and the Blue Jackets lost by two or more in 17 of 82. On those rates Vegas -1.5 lands 24.4% of the time against 34.3% priced, a gap of 9.9 points toward Blue Jackets +1.5 at -218. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean, on the same side. One bet on this game: the Blue Jackets at +114.
