Widener University, located in Chester, Pennsylvania, is a private, coeducational institution just 14 miles (23 km) southwest of Philadelphia. Its 108-acre main campus is complemented by three additional locations in Harrisburg and Exton, Pennsylvania, and Wilmington, Delaware.

Founded in 1821 as The Bullock School for Boys in Wilmington, Delaware, Widener evolved through several names and identities, including Delaware Military Academy in 1859 and Pennsylvania Military Academy in 1862. Today, the university is known for its focus on experiential learning, leadership, and civic engagement.
