Diaz vs. Masvidal Result: Diaz Won by Majority Decision

Nate Diaz beat Jorge Masvidal by majority decision in their 10-round boxing match at Honda Center in Anaheim, California, on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Two judges scored it 98-92 and 97-93 for Diaz, and the third had it even at 95-95.

It avenged Diaz’s loss to Masvidal in the UFC’s first BMF title fight in November 2019. Diaz’s next fight was a return to MMA in May 2026, and Mike Perry stopped him after two rounds.

How Diaz vs. Masvidal went

ESPN described it as a classic Diaz performance: he beat Masvidal with volume over 10 rounds at 175 pounds. Masvidal appeared to land the harder shots, and Diaz’s chin held up. At times Diaz laughed and turned his back, and the two kept throwing until the final bell.

Masvidal, 39, disagreed with the cards. “I thought I won,” he said. “We can do it again, we’re 1-1. We’ll find a place and do it again.” The event aired on DAZN and was co-promoted by Diaz’s Real Fight Inc. and Masvidal’s Gamebred Boxing.

The first fight ended when a physician ruled Diaz could not continue because of a cut, a ruling ESPN said Diaz did not agree with. Before Masvidal, Diaz’s only pro boxing fight was a unanimous decision loss to Jake Paul in 2023.

What Diaz did next

Diaz, 41, came back to MMA on May 16, 2026, against Mike Perry in the co-main event of Most Valuable Promotions’ first MMA card, headlined by Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. It was his first MMA fight since he submitted Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 in September 2022.

Perry dropped Diaz with a knee late in the first round and kept landing in the second. Diaz’s corner stopped it before the third, and ESPN reported it as a TKO win for Perry.
