Warriors Visit Reeling Suns in Crucial West Clash

The race for playoff positioning heats up Tuesday as the Golden State Warriors hit the road to face the Phoenix Suns, a team in desperate need of a turnaround.

Golden State (46-32) finds itself in a heated tie for the fifth seed in the Western Conference with the Clippers, Timberwolves, and Grizzlies, while trailing the Nuggets and Lakers by just a few games. Every game now carries postseason weight—and after a rare slip-up against the Rockets, the Warriors are hungry to bounce back.

Warriors Focused After Missed Opportunity

The Warriors had rattled off five straight wins before falling to Houston 106-96 on Sunday. It was an off night for Stephen Curry, who finished with just three points on 1-of-8 shooting from deep in 33 minutes.

Coach Steve Kerr didn’t panic, chalking it up to the grind of an 82-game season.

“Steph didn’t have it tonight. (Houston) did a great job defensively,” Kerr said. “Take Monday off and get ready for Phoenix.”

Despite the quiet outing, Curry remains the team’s leading scorer, averaging 24.4 points per game, followed by Jimmy Butler’s 17.1 (since joining the team) and Jonathan Kuminga’s 15.6.

Golden State still controls its destiny. With four games remaining, they’ll host the Spurs, travel to Portland, and finish the regular season with a key game against the Clippers.

Suns in Trouble After Six Straight Losses

Things are getting bleak in Phoenix (35-43). The Suns have now lost six in a row and sit 2.5 games behind the Dallas Mavericks for the final play-in spot. Losing Kevin Durant to an ankle injury on March 30 has only made things tougher.

Even with Devin Booker doing everything he can—he scored 40 points against the Knicks on Sunday and averaged 38.7 during the road trip—the results just haven’t followed.

“Whatever the situation is, whether we’re in or out, we’re going to give it our all,” Booker said.

Phoenix dropped all three games on their latest road trip, including Sunday’s 112-98 loss to New York. With just four games left, they need to win out—and get help—to sneak into the postseason.

Matchup Spotlight: Curry vs. Booker

This game could come down to which superstar gets the hottest. Curry is looking to shake off Sunday’s performance, while Booker continues to carry Phoenix in Durant’s absence. With both teams playing with urgency, expect fireworks on the perimeter.
