The next Olympic women’s singles tennis tournament is at the Los Angeles 2028 Games, from Thursday, July 20 to Thursday, July 27, 2028, at the Carson Courts south of downtown Los Angeles. Zheng Qinwen of China is the reigning champion after beating Donna Vekić of Croatia 6-2, 6-3 for the gold medal in Paris on August 3, 2024.

This page names no price for the 2028 event. It keeps the Paris result as the record and takes the LA draw and prices when they are set.

What this page called in 2024

The 2024 version of this page backed Świątek at -185 to win gold, on the strength of her record at Roland Garros, where the Paris tournament was played. She lost to Zheng in the semifinals and won bronze, so the bet lost. A -185 price implied 64.9%.

The dates are NBC Olympics’ event guide, which notes they are subject to change. The Games themselves run July 14 to 30, 2028, according to LA28. The Carson Courts, also known as Dignity Health Sports Park, are outdoor hard courts about 13 miles from downtown and home to the USTA’s High-Performance Training Center, NBC reports.

Paris was played on the clay of Roland Garros, on courts including Philippe-Chatrier and Suzanne-Lenglen, and LA will be played on hard courts. A price posted now would be a price on form nearly two years out, on a different surface.

How to bet Olympic tennis

A price is a chance. At -185 the implied chance is 64.9%, at +500 it is 16.7%, and at +2500 it is 3.8%. A futures bet is worth making only when you rate the player’s chance higher than the price does.
