How to read the Open board when it opens

A golf outright is a chance written as a payout. +450 implies 18.2%, +2000 implies 4.8% and +5500 implies 1.8%. A futures bet is worth making only when you rate the player’s chance higher than the price does, and the top sports betting sites will not all post the same number, so compare them.

The weather can split an Open field. The first two rounds are played in morning and afternoon waves, and Fox’s path in 2026, from outside the top 50 at halfway to the Claret Jug, is the case for watching the live board on the weekend as well as the futures board in the winter. For each week’s event, see our golf picks, and our Open Championship betting guide covers the statistics that suit links golf.
