UFL Week 8 Predictions
Let’s dive right into the full Week 8 slate of matchups and make our spread, total, and moneyline picks for each game.
Memphis Showboats vs. San Antonio Brahmas Odds
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Memphis Showboats | +102 | +1.5 (-112) | Over 37.5 (-102) |
San Antonio Brahmas | -122 | -1.5 (-108) | Under 37.5 (-118) |
Memphis and San Antonio are both 1-6, but there has been improvement from both sides behind third-string quarterbacks. Kevin Hogan has brought much-needed stability to the Brahmas, while Dresser Winn is making plays for Memphis, though he’s still turnover-prone behind a struggling offensive line.
San Antonio has the edge in turnover margin and home-field advantage. Add in a defense that’s capable of scoring itself, and the Brahmas feel slightly more trustworthy here.
Memphis Showboats vs. San Antonio Brahmas Predictions
This is a tough game to break down with both teams being legitimately miserable, but I’ll give the edge to San Antonio at home.
Bet: San Antonio (-122), Brahmas -1.5 (-108), Over 37.5 (-102)
Michigan Panthers vs. Houston Roughnecks Odds
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Michigan Panthers | -258 | -6 (-110) | Over 42.5 (-118) |
Houston Roughnecks | +210 | +6 (-110) | Under 42.5 (-102) |
The Panthers are heavy favorites going into Houston to take on the Roughnecks, but there are red flags.
Michigan’s defense is missing its leader in Frank Ginda, which has left a noticeable void. Meanwhile, Houston is trending upward since Jalan McClendon took over at quarterback. They’re 2-1 under his leadership and +5 in turnover margin over that stretch. Had they not blown a 19-point lead in a loss to the Stallions last week, they’d be perfect since their QB switch.
Michigan Panthers vs. Houston Roughnecks Odds
This line feels inflated based on team records alone. Houston is scrappy and dangerous at home — this is a great spot for them to cover and maybe even steal a win outright.
Bet: Houston Roughnecks (+210), Roughnecks +6 (-110), Under 42.5 (-102)
Birmingham Stallions vs. St. Louis Battlehawks Odds
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Birmingham Stallions | +105 | +1.5 (-105) | Over 39.5 (-115) |
St. Louis Battlehawks | -125 | -1.5 (-115) | Under 39.5 (-105) |
This is the heavyweight bout of the weekend. Both teams are 5-2, and both look playoff-bound. Birmingham is flying particularly high after stunning the Roughnecks with their aforementioned 19-point comeback last week.
The Battlehawks are laying 1.5 at home, but Birmingham comes in with the league’s best run defense and arguably the top coaching staff in the UFL. If you watch one game this weekend, make it this one.
St. Louis leads the league in rushing but struggles through the air and is still missing top lineman Abdul Beecham. That mismatch up front could be the difference.
Birmingham Stallions vs. St. Louis Battlehawks Predictions
Given the state of both teams and the way the odds are skewed in favor of St. Louis, I like a flier on Birmingham to pull a slight upset on the road.
Bet: Birmingham (+105), Stallions +1.5 (-105), Under 39.5 (-115)
Arlington Renegades vs. DC Defenders Odds
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Arlington Renegades | +124 | +3 (-110) | Over 43.5 (-102) |
DC Defenders | -148 | -3 (-110) | Under 43.5 (-118) |
The Defenders are out for revenge after Arlington pulled off what was then the largest comeback in UFL history against them earlier this year.
DC has a significant edge in the secondary and brings in the league’s number-two pass defense. With Jordan Ta’amu under center and a fired-up home crowd behind them, DC looks ready to finish what they started.
Arlington Renegades vs. DC Defenders Predictions
Arlington is missing star running back and Miami Dolphins legend Kalen Ballage, and their offense hasn’t looked the same without him. Expect DC to control the game script and limit the Renegades’ opportunities.
Bet: DC (-148), DC Defenders -3 (-110), Under 43.5 (-118)
