It is a team event on the PGA Tour: players enter in pairs, and the board prices each pair as one entry. The 2027 tournament
The PGA Tour’s tournament page lists April 22 to 25, 2027, at TPC Louisiana, and ESPN’s PGA Tour calendar has the same dates. The course plays as a par 72 of 7,425 yards on both. The 2026 purse was $9.5 million, and each Fitzpatrick took home $1,372,750.

How the team format works
The format alternates by round. Rounds one and three are four-ball: both players play their own ball on every hole, and the team takes the better score. Rounds two and four are foursomes, or alternate shot: one ball per team, one player teeing off on the odd holes and the other on the even holes.
The scores show the difference. The Fitzpatricks shot 64 and 57 in the two four-ball rounds and 65 and 71 in foursomes. The 2025 winners, Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin, went 62 and 61 in four-ball, then 66 and 71 in foursomes. Four-ball days build the low totals; the Sunday foursomes round is where a lead gets tested.
How the 2026 tournament was won
The Fitzpatricks set a tournament record with a 57 in the third-round four-ball, 15 under par, and went into Sunday four shots clear. They lost that lead on the back nine of the foursomes round and won it back at the par-5 18th: Matt splashed out of a greenside bunker to 14 inches and Alex holed the birdie putt for a closing 71. Their 257 total, 31 under, is also a tournament record.

The win earned Alex Fitzpatrick a PGA Tour exemption through 2028. The pair had led the April odds on this page at +1175. The team this page backed, Griffin and Novak at +1850, finished tied 10th at 26 under, and Brooks Koepka and Shane Lowry, listed at +1550, missed the cut.

McIlroy and Lowry beat the team of Ramey and Trainer in a playoff in 2024. In 2021, Leishman and Smith beat the team of Oosthuizen and Schwartzel on the first extra hole.
What the record says about betting it
The winners led after 54 holes in 2022 (Cantlay and Schauffele), 2025 (Novak and Griffin) and 2026 (the Fitzpatricks). The comeback came in 2023, when Hardy and Riley started Sunday three shots behind Beau Hossler and Wyndham Clark and closed with a 65 to win by two.
Winning scores have run from 25 to 31 under since 2022, so a team that falls five or six shots back on a four-ball day has little room left.
