The Big Ten Conference continues to produce some terrific football teams, but those teams always seem to fall short on the national level. There will be a number of Big Ten teams in the Top 25 this season, but winning a national championship continues to be elusive.

The Buckeyes are led by quarterback C.J. Stroud, and he will be trying to push his Buckeyes team past the Wolverines this season. Michigan returns a ton of talent from a season ago that saw them reach the College Football Playoff.
The winner of this rivalry game will have a great shot at winning the conference title, but there will be some tough battles along the way as well.
Sleepers in the West
The East Division continues to look like the best division in the Big Ten Conference, but someone has to win the West. Looking for sleepers in the Big Ten Conference starts in the West Division, and there are two teams to look at.
The Wisconsin Badgers are listed at +1400 to win the Big Ten, but they are the favorites in the West. Quarterback Graham Mertz should be terrific again in 2022, and the Badgers always are a team that defends well.
The Iowa Hawkeyes (+2500) are the other team to watch in the West Division, and in the Big Ten in general. Iowa has some work to do on the offensive end, but that defense should be one of the better units in the country.
You could also look at teams like Nebraska and Purdue in the West Division as this race feels more wide open than the East. It should be a competitive race in that division, but Wisconsin and Iowa are just slightly better.

The Ohio State Buckeyes had a disappointing season by their standards in 2022, but the rest of the Big Ten Conference shouldn’t expect that again. Ohio State has reloaded with talent yet again, and Stroud should be the best player in the conference.
The Buckeyes will get some revenge on Michigan this season, and they will be right back at the top of the conference. The bet to make here is taking the Ohio State Buckeyes -250 to win the Big Ten.
