UFC Vegas 60 Odds, Picks and Preview

UFC Vegas 60 is on Saturday and I’m going to prepare everyone for cashing in.

First off, I want to touch briefly on UFC 279. After Khamzat Chimaev missed weight by 7.5 pounds it was great to see Nate Diaz go out with a bang by submitting Tony Ferguson in the 4th round.

Chimaev will need to be much better about hitting weight or it’ll quickly become a problem.

Let’s jump into my UFC Vegas 60 predictions.

Sandhagen vs. Song Predictions

Fight Odds: Sandhagen (-190) vs. Song (+160)

Cory Sandhagen (14-4) has lost two fights in a row and three of five fights since 2020. His two recent losses were by decision against T.J. Dillashaw and Petr Yan. Both fights were five rounds.

Yadong Song (19-6-1-1) has won three consecutive fights. His last two wins were against Julio Arce (TKO) and Marlon Moraes (KO). Song has now knocked out eight opponents in his career.

Song has power, but Sandhagen has a 3” height advantage and 3” reach advantage. Prior to his two recent losses, Sandhagen had knocked out Moraes and Frankie Edgar.

Sandhagen averages 6.42 SLpM and 4.50 SApM, while Song averages 4.92 SLpM and 3.78 SApM.

This fight will likely be fought standing up for the most part and Sandhagen will get the job done. He’s an active striker with some power and this is a step up in competition for Song.

Best Bet: Sandhagen ML (-190)

Njokuani vs. Rodrigues Predictions

Fight Odds: Njokuani (-115) vs. Rodrigues (-105)

Chidi Njokuani (22-7-0-1) has won three consecutive fights by knockout. He already has had first round knockouts against Marc-Andre Barriault and Dusko Todorovic this year.

Gregory Rodrigues (12-4) is 3-1 since joining the UFC last year. He has defeated Todorovic by decision, Jun Yong Park by KO and Julian Marquez by KO. His loss was against Armen Petrosyan by decision.

These guys both have power. Njokuani has 14 TKO/KO wins and 3 TKO/KO losses, while Rodrigues has 6 TKO/KO wins and 2 TKO/KO losses. There’s a good shot someone lands a knockout this weekend.

Njokuani has a big 5” reach advantage, which helps his striking defense (1..45 SApM). Rodrigues is the more active striker (6.0 SLpM vs. 3.75 SLpM), but he has poor striking defense (5.73 SApM).

I like Njokuani to tag Rodrigues at some point and earn the stoppage win, but I’ll stick to the moneyline.

Best Bet: Njokuani ML (-115)

Fili vs. Algeo Predictions

Fight Odds: Fili (-120) vs. Algeo (+100)

hqdefault

Andre Fili (21-9-0-1) has one win against Charles Jourdain by split decision in his last five fights.

Bill Algeo (16-6) is 3-2 in the UFC since joining the promotion in 2020. Fili is coming off a loss against Joanderson Brito (TKO) in April. Algeo defeated Brito by decision back in January.

Algeo has also fought since, winning against Herbert Burns by TKO. Algeo is an active striker (5.73 SLpM), but his striking defense isn’t great (4.18 SApM). However, Fili hasn’t KOed anyone since 2019.

Fili averages 3.82 SLpM and 3.92 SApM. Fili seems like he’s winding down and this is a good spot for the small underdog to cash. Algeo has to watch for takedowns, but he should dominate in the stand-up.

Fili averages 2.49 takedowns per 15 minutes and Algeo only has 54% takedown defense (TDD). Algeo has lost some fights due to being too easy to takedown, but I like him to defeat Fili.

Best Bet: Algeo ML (+100)

What Is Round Betting in UFC?

UFC Vegas 60 Prelims Best Bet

I’m backing Pat Sabatini (17-3) as a -180 favorite against Damon Jackson (21-4-1-1).

Sabatini is 4-0 in the UFC with wins against Tristan Connelly (Decision), Jamall Emmers (Submission), Tucker Lutz (Decision) and T.J. Laramie (Decision). He has ten career submission wins.

Jackson is 4-1 in the UFC. He was knocked out by Ilia Topuria in 2020. He has won three consecutive fights since against Charles Rosa (Decision), Kamuela Kirk (Submission) and Dan Argueta (Decision).

Both of these guys are excellent grapplers. Jackson has 15 career wins by submission. Since they both cancel each other’s grappling most likely, Sabatini has the better chance at winning a decision.

Sabatini only averages 1.69 SLpM, but he also only averages 1.30 SApM. His striking defense is solid. He also averages 3.84 takedowns per 15 minutes (Jackson averages 2.47 takedowns per 15 minutes).

Best Bet: Sabatini ML (-180)

UFC Vegas 60 Parlay Predictions

Here’s my best parlay for the UFC Vegas 60 fight card:

Sandhagen ML + Sabatini ML + Boser ML (+266 Payout Odds)

I’ve already explained why I’ll be betting on Sandhagen and Sabatini this weekend.

Tanner Boser (20-8-1) is fighting Rodrigo Nascimento (8-1-0-1) on the main card. Nascimento won his UFC debut back in 2020, but he has gone winless in his last two fights.

He’s coming off a no-contest result against Alan Baudot and he was knocked out by Chris Daukaus. Boser is coming off a KO win against Ovince St. Preux last June after losing his two previous fights.

Boser has power. He has 11 TKO/KO wins and he could light up his opponent on Saturday. He’ll have to deal with a 5” reach disadvantage, but if he gets inside, he’ll cause damage.
