After a holiday break, the UFC is back for UFC Vegas 67 on Saturday at UFC Apex in Nevada.
There have been some fights moved from the card and there are now 11 fights scheduled. The main event will feature Sean Strickland vs. Nassourdine Imavov in what will be an exciting fight.
Here are the best bets for UFC Vegas 67 this weekend:
Strickland vs. Imavov Predictions
Fight Odds: Strickland (+115) vs. Imavov (-135)
Strickland (25-5) has lost two fights in a row and took this fight on late notice as a replacement. Imavov (12-3) is 4-1 since joining the UFC in 2020, which includes two TKO victories.
Both fighters are active strikers (Strickland 5.59 SLpM vs. Imavov 4.08 SLpM), but Strickland eats a lot of shots (Strickland 4.18 SApM vs. Imavov 2.43 SApM). Imavov has shown he can take a punch as well.
Imavov has never been knocked out, while Strickland has been knocked out twice. With a full camp, look for Imavov to finish his opponent, giving Strickland his third consecutive loss.
Best Bet: Imavov ML (-135)
Ige vs. Jackson Predictions
Fight Odds: Ige (-125) vs. Jackson (+105)
Dan Ige (15-6) has lost three consecutive fights and four of his last five. All four of the losses came by decision. Damon Jackson (22-4-1-1) comes into this fight on a four-fight winning streak.
Jackson likes to take fights to the ground. He averages 2.62 takedowns per 15 minutes. He has landed 11 takedowns during his current win streak. Ige has poor takedown defense (51%) as well.
I’m betting on Jackson as an underdog to control this fight on the mat and emerge victorious.
Best Bet: Jackson ML (+105)
Nurmagomedov vs. Barcelos Predictions
Fight Odds: Nurmagomedov (-950) vs. Barcelos (+650)
Umar Nurmagomedov (15-0) is Khabib’s cousin. He’s a massive favorite in the first fight on the main card against Raoni Barcelos (17-3). Barcelos is 6-2 in the UFC, but currently on a 1-2 run.
Nurmagomedov doesn’t have great striking. He relies on submissions (7). He also has seven decision wins. Barcelos has only been tapped once in his career and that was back in 2014 at RFA 14.
I don’t think Nurmagomedov will lock in a submission against a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt.
Best Bet: Nurmagomedov by Decision (-167)
Argueta vs. Aguirre Predictions
Fight Odds: Argueta (-600) vs. Aguirre (+425)
Dan Argueta (8-1) lost his UFC debut against Damon Jackson by decision. Nick Aguirre (7-0) will be making his UFC debut. He has finished all of his opponents with six of the wins coming in round 1.
These odds seem off to me. Aguirre is capable of locking in a submission and could even end up winning by decision. Argueta’s debut wasn’t impressive and he shouldn’t be such a big favorite.
I’ll take a shot on Aguirre in the prelims with the potential for a huge payout.
Best Bet: Aguirre ML (+425)
