UFC Vegas 70 Odds, Picks and Preview

UFC will stay at UFC Apex this weekend for UFC Vegas 70 on Saturday night.

The prelims will get underway at 5:00 PM ET and the main card begins at 8:00 PM ET. The main event will feature two top ten light heavyweights in Nikita Krylov (#6) and Ryan Spann (#8).

Krylov vs. Spann Predictions

Fight Odds: Krylov (-170) vs. Spann (+140)

Krylov (29-9) is on a two fight win streak. He knocked out Alexander Gustafsson at UFC London and he defeated Volkan Oezdemir by decision at UFC 280. Krylov has been tapped out six times.

Spann (21-7) is also on a two fight win streak and he’s 7-2 in the UFC. Spann has 12 submission wins and that’s something Krylov will have to be careful of in this 5-round fight.

Spann’s last five fights have ended in the first round. Spann averages 3.42 SLpM and 3.42 SApM, while Krylov averages 4.45 SLpM and 2.50 SApM. Krylov will have the wrestling edge in this fight.

I like Krylov to win, but my best bet is on this fight going over 1.5 rounds at plus money.

Best Bet: Over 1.5 Rounds (+145)

Muniz vs. Allen Predictions

Fight Odds: Muniz (-205) vs. Allen (+175)

Andre Muniz (23-4) is 5-0 in the UFC. He has 15 career submission wins and three of his UFC wins were by submission. Brendan Allen (20-5) has won three consecutive fights and is 8-2 in the UFC.

Muniz isn’t the best striker and only averages 1.91 SLpM (1.45 SApM). Allen averages 3.99 SLpM and 4.01 SApM. However, Muniz averages 3.71 takedowns per 15 minutes and is strong on the mat.

Allen has only been tapped out once in his career. Both guys are submission specialists, but I don’t think either fighter will lock one in on Saturday. My best bet is on over 1.5 rounds. I also like Muniz to win.

Sakai vs. Mayes Predictions

Fight Odds: Sakai (-135) vs. Mayes (+115)

Augusto Sakai (15-5-1) has been knocked out in his last four fights and yet he’s favored. Don’Tale Mayes (9-4-0-1) was tapped out in his first two UFC fights, but then won his next two fights.

These two guys are likely to jump into the middle of the cage and start swinging. Mayes will have a 4” reach advantage in the fight and Sakai has been getting knocked out by everyone lately.

Mayes is also capable of taking this fight to the mat where he can work his ground and pound. Sakai hasn’t shown us anything and Mayes could build his resume with a win here as a small underdog.

Best Bet: Mayes ML (+115)
