Dodgers vs Brewers Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

Take the Brewers to win Game 2 at home. Our number gives them 53.2%; the market gives them 43.7%.

DraftKings has Milwaukee at +119 and Los Angeles at -143. Those two prices carry a 4.5-point margin. Remove it and the market reads Dodgers 56.3%, Brewers 43.7%. Ours has the Brewers at 53.2%. That is a 9.5-point gap on the Milwaukee side, and we bet at 5.

How the number is built

The method has three steps. Rate each club on the runs it scored and allowed in the 2026 regular season, set the two rates against each other, then give the home side the edge home teams earned across the league this year.

Milwaukee scored 832 runs and allowed 618 in 162 games. Runs scored to the power 1.83, divided by that figure plus runs allowed to the same power, puts the Brewers at 63.3%. Their 103-59 record is a 63.6% rate. Los Angeles scored 801 and allowed 600: 62.9% by runs, 61.7% by a 100-62 record.

On a neutral field those two rates make the Brewers 50.4% to win. Home teams went 1,284-1,145 in the 2026 regular season, a 52.9% rate, and with that folded in Milwaukee reaches 53.2% and Los Angeles 46.8%.

Where the series stands

The Brewers lead the best-of-seven National League Championship Series 1-0. They won Game 1 at American Family Field on Sunday 11 October, 2-1.

Our number is the same 53.2% it was before that game, because it reads 162 regular-season games per club and nothing after them. What moved is the price. Read on 9 October, before Game 1, DraftKings had the Brewers at -112 and this method passed. The Brewers won, and they are now +119.

One game is too small a sample to change a rate built on 162. The method does not count the 2-1 win for Milwaukee, and it would not have counted a loss against them.

The starters

ESPN lists Logan Henderson as the Brewers’ probable starter. The right-hander went 11-3 in the regular season with a 2.47 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP over 98 1/3 innings in 18 starts, striking out 110 and walking 19.

The Dodgers’ probable starter is Yoshinobu Yamamoto, also right-handed: 14-9 with a 2.53 ERA and a 0.87 WHIP over 185 innings in 28 starts, 182 strikeouts and 42 walks. His workload was close to double Henderson’s.

Neither line is in our 53.2%. The number comes from every pitcher each club used across 162 games, so it does not move with the name. The market does price the two starters, and that is one place the 9.5-point gap can come from. The data here cannot say how much of it.

The season behind it

The Brewers went 55-26 at American Family Field, scoring 5.52 runs a game and allowing 3.47. The Dodgers were 49-32 on the road with 5.26 scored and 3.46 allowed, a better line than their 51-30, 4.63 and 3.95 at home. A split halves each sample, so the method keeps the full season for both.

The clubs met seven times in the regular season and Milwaukee won four. The Dodgers took two of three at American Family Field in May; the Brewers took three of four in Los Angeles in August. Seven games prove nothing, and all seven are already inside each club’s season totals.

The price

The Brewers opened at +105 and the Dodgers at -126. At 09:48 UTC on 12 October, DraftKings via ESPN had them at +119 and -143. The market has moved towards Los Angeles since the open, away from our number.

The market’s percentages are the moneyline with its margin removed. The margin is 4.5 points at this read, and the break points under the pick are measured with it.

Pick: Brewers +119

Bet the Brewers at +119. Ours is 53.2%, the market’s is 43.7%, and 9.5 points clears the 5-point threshold.

The bet holds at any underdog price, at even money, and down to -101. At -102 or shorter the gap is under 5 and it is a pass. The Dodgers would need +130 or longer to be a bet, and at -143 they are nowhere near it.

What changes it

The price comes first. This read is about 11 hours before first pitch. If money comes for Milwaukee and the Brewers go past -101, there is no bet left.

Then the starters. Henderson and Yamamoto are probable, which is ESPN’s word and short of confirmed. If either club changes its starter, the price will move and our 53.2% will not. Check the new price against -101 before betting.

The total

The total is 6.5, down from 7 at the open, with the over at -124 and the under at +103. Pass on the total.

In the regular season the Brewers went over 6.5 in 107 of 162 games. The Dodgers went over in 104. Those counts hold every starter both clubs used all year. A postseason total is set on the two starters named for the night, which a season count cannot measure, so we pass on every postseason total.
