Brewers vs Dodgers Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Brewers on the moneyline as road underdogs in Game 3. We make them 47.5% to win in Los Angeles; the price says 39.2%.
DraftKings has Los Angeles at -175 and Milwaukee at +144. The two prices carry a 4.6-point margin. Take it out and the market reads Dodgers 60.8%, Brewers 39.2%. Our number is Dodgers 52.5%, Brewers 47.5%. The gap on the Milwaukee side is 8.3 points, and we bet at 5.
This is a bet on the price. We have the Dodgers as the likelier winner too, by less than the market does.
How the number is built
Each club is rated on the runs it scored and allowed in the 2026 regular season. The two rates are set against each other, and the home side then gets the edge home teams earned across the league this year.
Los Angeles scored 801 runs and allowed 600 in 162 games. Runs scored to the power 1.83, divided by that figure plus runs allowed to the same power, rates the Dodgers at 62.9%. Their 100-62 record is a 61.7% rate. Milwaukee scored 832 and allowed 618: 63.3% by runs, 63.6% by a 103-59 record.
On a neutral field those rates make the Dodgers 49.6% to win. Home teams went 1,284-1,145 in the 2026 regular season, a 52.9% rate. Fold that in and Los Angeles reaches 52.5%, Milwaukee 47.5%.
What two games changed
The Brewers lead the best-of-seven National League Championship Series 2-0. They won 2-1 on Sunday 11 October and 7-4 on Monday 12 October, both at American Family Field.
Our Game 2 page said “Pick: Brewers +119”. That call won. One result does not test a method, and the Game 1 page was a pass.
Neither win is in the 47.5%. The number reads 162 regular-season games per club and nothing after them. What changed it is the ballpark. For Game 2 in Milwaukee the same method had the Brewers at 53.2%. With the home edge now on the other side, the Dodgers go from 46.8% to 52.5%, a 5.7-point swing.
The market has moved by a similar amount. Before Game 2 it had the Dodgers at 56.3% on the road. It has them at 60.8% at home, 4.5 points higher. Two Milwaukee wins have not visibly cut its rating of Los Angeles, and the gap between its number and ours was 9.5 points then and is 8.3 now.
The starters
ESPN lists Robert Gasser as the Brewers’ probable starter. The left-hander went 5-5 in the regular season with a 3.87 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP over 109 1/3 innings in 20 starts. He struck out 103 and walked 35.
ESPN lists no probable starter for the Dodgers at this read. The name is not announced, so there is no line to set beside Gasser’s.
No starter’s line is in our 52.5%. It comes from every pitcher each club used across 162 games, so it will not move when the Dodgers name theirs. The market prices starters, and part of the 8.3-point gap can come from that. The data here cannot say how much.
The season behind it
The Dodgers went 51-30 at home, scoring 4.63 runs a game and allowing 3.95. The Brewers went 48-33 on the road, with 4.75 scored and 4.16 allowed. Each split is 81 games, half a season, so the method keeps all 162 for both clubs.
The clubs met seven times in the regular season and Milwaukee won four. Three of those wins came in the four games the Dodgers hosted in August. With the two in this series, the Brewers have won six of nine meetings in 2026. Nine games is a count and proves nothing as a rate. The seven regular-season ones are already inside each club’s totals.
The price
The Dodgers opened at -166 and the Brewers at +137. At 04:30 UTC on 13 October, DraftKings via ESPN had them at -175 and +144. The move since the open is towards Los Angeles, away from our number.
The market’s percentages are the moneyline with its margin removed. The margin is 4.6 points at this read, and the break points below are measured with it.
Pick: Brewers +144
Bet the Brewers at +144. Ours is 47.5%, the market’s is 39.2%, and 8.3 points clears the 5-point threshold.
The bet holds down to +125. At +124 or shorter the gap is under 5 and it is a pass. The Dodgers would be a bet at +102 or longer, and at -175 they are a long way from it.
What changes it
The price first. This read is more than 43 hours before first pitch. If money comes for Milwaukee and the Brewers drop under +125, there is no bet left.
Then the starters. Gasser is probable, which is ESPN’s word and short of confirmed, and the Dodgers have named nobody. When they do, the price can move and our 47.5% will not. Check the new price against +125 before betting.
The total
The total is 7.5, where it opened. The over is -108 and the under -112. Pass on the total.
In the regular season the Dodgers went over 7.5 in 84 of 162 games. The Brewers went over in 82. Those counts include every starter both clubs used all year. A postseason total is set on the two starters named for the night, and only one is named here, so a season count cannot measure it. We pass on every postseason total.
