South Dakota State Jackrabbits

The Jackrabbits were underdogs ten times in 2025-26 and lost all ten. Backing them to win in every priced game lost 15.11 units, and only ten Division I teams lost more.

No upsets

South Dakota State never won a game it was expected to lose. Ten times the market had them behind, from Northern Iowa in November to St. Thomas in the Summit League tournament, and ten times they lost. A unit on each of those ten games lost exactly ten.

As favorites it was barely better: 11-8, and 5.11 units lost over 19 games; only 11 teams lost more as favorites.

Losses at short prices

The shortest price of all was the home game with South Dakota: the Jackrabbits laid 11.5 at -700 and lost by a point, 68-67. Three weeks later the Coyotes won the rematch too, 75-70, with South Dakota State favored again at -170. Two other home losses came at -250 to Idaho, 84-81, and at -115 to St. Thomas, and a 90-87 loss at North Dakota came at -340.

Across the 29 priced games the net loss came to 15.11 units. February was the worst month, 3-5 and 4.23 units down; no month finished in profit.

Against the spread

They covered 12 of 29, 41.4%. At home it was 4 of 10; on the road, 7 of 14. As favorites, 8 of 19, and all eight losses in that role were spread misses too.

Summit League opponents

St. Thomas beat them three times, the last 80-67 in the tournament quarterfinal. South Dakota and North Dakota State won both meetings and covered both. Kansas City and Oral Roberts lost both, and the Jackrabbits covered all four.

The total

Fifteen unders and 14 overs, with six of the last eight lined games under. The Jackrabbits scored 75.41 a game and allowed 72.84.
