TCU is a 5.5-point favorite over Kansas at DraftKings, up from 4.5 at the open. Our Kansas vs TCU prediction makes it TCU -10. The gap is 4.5 points on TCU’s side, and the threshold for a bet is 3.

The prices and what they say

The spread is TCU -5.5 at -112 and Kansas +5.5 at -108, read 30 October 2026 at 00:40 UTC. The moneyline is TCU -230 and Kansas +190.

A book builds a margin into its prices, so the two sides add to more than 100%. With that margin taken out, the moneyline gives TCU a 66.9% chance to win and Kansas 33.1%. ESPN’s FPI is close to the market: TCU 66.1%, Kansas 33.9%. Neither team is ranked in the AP Poll, Week 9.

How TCU -10 is reached

Our number is half the difference between the home team’s average margin at home and the visitor’s average margin on the road. It counts FBS opponents only, over 2025 and 2026 together. Bowl and playoff games are played at neutral sites, so they are left out.

TCU is 5-3 at home against FBS teams over that span, winning by 7.9 points a game. Kansas is 1-6 on the road against FBS teams, losing by 12.1 a game. Half the difference is 10.0 points, which is TCU -10.

The market says -5.5. That 4.5-point gap is the whole argument. The base is 15 games: 8 for TCU and 7 for Kansas, both above the 4-game minimum the rule sets.

TCU at home, Kansas on the road

Three of TCU’s eight home games against FBS teams are from this season. It beat Arkansas State 31-7 on 19 September, lost 17-10 to BYU on 3 October and lost 24-20 to West Virginia on 24 October. The rest of the sample is 2025, when TCU went 5-1 at home overall.

Kansas’s road half is the weaker team in the sample. Two of the seven games are from 2026, and both were losses by double digits: 41-24 at Utah on 10 October and 35-24 at Kansas State on 17 October. Kansas went 1-4 on the road in 2025. The 24-17 loss to Arizona State on 19 September was at a neutral site, so the method does not count it.

The method leaves out the other two halves. Kansas is 3-1 at home this season, with a 51-6 win over Long Island University, a 55-0 win over Middle Tennessee and a 25-24 win over Baylor on 24 October. Its one home loss was 38-21 to Missouri. TCU is 1-1 on the road, losing 21-13 at UCF and winning 17-6 at Baylor.

Pick: TCU -5.5

The bet rests on 15 games split 8 and 7. Kansas’s half is the stronger signal: one road win against an FBS team in seven tries. TCU’s half is the softer one. It lost two of its three FBS home games this season, both by seven points or fewer.

What kills the bet

The line. TCU stays a bet down to -7. Past -7, the gap falls under the threshold and the call becomes a pass. Kansas would need +13 or better to be the bet.

The risk is TCU’s current home form. A 1-2 record against FBS teams at Amon G. Carter Stadium this season does not match a 7.9-point home average, and our number trusts two seasons over three games.
