Tulsa at Navy Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Our number has Navy by 9.6. Navy is a bet at -6.5 or shorter, Tulsa at +13 or longer.
No spread had been posted for this game at DraftKings when we read ESPN on 28 September 2026. Our number is Navy by 9.6. A side becomes a bet when the spread sits at least 3 points from it.
How the number is built
The method is one clause: our number is half the difference between the home team’s average margin at home and the visitor’s average margin on the road, against FBS teams only, 2025 and 2026 together.
Navy is 5-0 at home against FBS teams over that span, winning by 7.6 points a game across 5 games. Tulsa is 3-5 on the road against FBS teams, losing by 11.5 a game across 8 games. The difference is 19.1 points. Half of it, rounded, is 9.6.
All five of Navy’s games are from 2025. Its one home game this season was a 42-15 win over Towson, a team outside the FBS, and the method leaves it out.
Navy at home
Navy won every one: 38-24 over UAB, 21-13 over Rice, 34-31 over Air Force, 42-32 over Florida Atlantic and 41-38 over South Florida. Two of the five were by 3 points.
Five games is one over the minimum of 4. The record is clean and the margins are not large. A 7.6 average built on two 3-point wins is thinner than 5-0 sounds.
Tulsa on the road
Tulsa won 19-12 at Oklahoma State and 26-25 at Army in 2025, and 23-17 at Sam Houston on 12 September. The five losses were 21-14 at New Mexico State, 45-7 at Memphis, 41-27 at East Carolina and 40-21 at Florida Atlantic in 2025, then 34-6 at Arkansas on 26 September.
The 38-point loss at Memphis is the largest margin in the sample. Without it the other seven road games average -7.7, a sum of -54 over 7, and our number would be Navy by 7.7.
2026 so far
Tulsa is 3-1. It beat Oklahoma State 24-10 at home, won 23-17 at Sam Houston and beat East Texas A&M 42-0, a team outside the FBS. It lost 34-6 at Arkansas on 26 September. Against its three FBS opponents it has scored 17.7 points a game and allowed 20.3.
Navy is 1-2 and 0-2 in the American Conference. It beat Towson, then lost 38-30 at Florida Atlantic and 24-20 at UAB on 25 September. Against FBS teams it has scored 25.0 a game and allowed 31.0.
Last season
Navy went 11-2 in 2025 and won by 6.5 a game. It was 6-0 at home, beat Army 17-16 on 13 December and closed with a 35-13 win over Cincinnati on 2 January 2026, both at neutral sites.
Tulsa went 4-8 and was outscored by 5.8 a game. The two teams met once: Navy won 42-23 at Tulsa on 13 September 2025.
The price
There is none yet, for the spread, the total or the moneyline.
ESPN’s FPI gives Navy a 51.4% chance to win, close to even. Our number has Navy by 9.6. A posted line will show which of the two the market is closer to.
Pick: Navy -6.5 or shorter, Tulsa +13 or longer
Until a line is posted, this is the call. At Navy -6.5 the gap is 3.1 and Navy is the bet. At Tulsa +13 the gap is 3.4 and Tulsa is the bet.
From Navy -7 to -12.5 the market sits within 3 points of our 9.6, and the call is a pass. It rests on 13 games, split 5 and 8.
What changes it
The posted line decides the side, and the full page re-reads it the week of the game. If the market sits near FPI, with Navy a short favourite, Navy is the bet.
Navy’s 2026 results are the case against it. It has lost both FBS games this season, and both were on the road, so neither is in the sample. This page does not state who is available, so check the injury report before you bet.
