Bengals vs Falcons prediction: Take the Falcons +3
Take the Falcons +3. My number has Atlanta winning this game, and the market has it losing by three.
Cincinnati is 5-2 and Atlanta was shut out 16-0 at Tampa Bay last week. I know how this reads. I’m taking the three anyway, because two seasons of results say the gap between these teams is far smaller than the line.
Bengals vs Falcons odds and what they say
All 11 US sportsbooks I read at 20:44 UTC on 6 November have Cincinnati Bengals -3, with Cincinnati’s price running from -120 to -110. The total is 52.5 at ten books and 53 at one. The moneyline median is Cincinnati -169 and Atlanta +145.
Every book builds in a margin, the extra that makes the two prices add to more than 100%. Strip it out and the moneyline gives Cincinnati a 60.6% chance to win and Atlanta 39.4%. That is context. The bet here is the spread.
How Atlanta by 1.72 is reached
The method in one line: take half the gap between the two teams’ per-game point differentials, then add 2.5 points for home field. Over 17 games in 2025, Atlanta was -48, or -2.82 a game. Cincinnati was -78, or -4.59 a game. That makes Atlanta a 3.38-point favourite at home.
The market has Atlanta getting 3. Against my 2025 number that is an edge of 6.38 points on the Falcons. My threshold is two points, on last season and on the blend of both seasons weighted by games played, and both must point the same way.
This season shifts the picture. Cincinnati is +6.86 a game over seven games, and Atlanta is -2.25 a game over eight. On 2026 alone, Cincinnati is a 2.05-point favourite. That’s the honest doubt, and it still leaves Cincinnati short of the three it is laying. Blend the two seasons by games played and Atlanta is a 1.72-point favourite, an edge of 4.72 on the Falcons. Both numbers clear two.
Atlanta at home, Cincinnati on the road
The method uses whole seasons and a flat 2.5 for home field, so the venue splits sit outside it. Those splits also leave out neutral-site games. In 2025 Atlanta went 4-4 at home, scoring 21.2 a game and allowing 25.8. Cincinnati went 3-5 on the road, scoring 21.4 and allowing 28.4.
The halves the game doesn’t use: Atlanta went 4-4 away, at 19.8 scored and 20.5 allowed, and Cincinnati went 3-6 at home, at 27.0 and 29.4. This season the venue records run the other way for Atlanta. The Falcons are 1-3 at home and 2-2 on the road, and the Bengals are 3-1 away.
The season around it
Atlanta finished 2025 at 8-9 with 20.8 points scored and 23.6 allowed a game. It went 5-5 in one-score games and 3-3 in the NFC South. Cincinnati finished 6-11, scoring 24.4 and allowing 28.9. It went 3-5 in one-score games and 3-3 in the AFC North.
This season Cincinnati has outscored opponents 206-158. Its wins are 33-27 over Tampa Bay, 20-6 at Houston, 31-24 at Miami, 35-13 at Baltimore and 43-36 over Tennessee. The losses are 30-27 at Pittsburgh and 22-17 to Jacksonville. Last week’s 43-36 win failed to cover -13.5.
Atlanta has been outscored 189-171, and its season swings hard. It won 35-14 at Green Bay, 45-24 at New Orleans and 29-20 over San Francisco. It lost 34-3 to Carolina at home and 16-0 at Tampa Bay. The data has no meeting between these teams since the start of 2025, so nothing head-to-head sits in my number.
Pick: Falcons +3
The bet is Atlanta +3, with an edge of 4.72 points on the weighted number against a threshold of two. All 11 books had Cincinnati -3 at the 20:44 UTC read on 6 November.
The line opened at Cincinnati -5.5 on 13 September, then read -4.5 the same day, -2.5 on 1 November, -3.5 on 2 November and -3 on 6 November. My number sits on the Atlanta side of every one of those prices.
What kills the bet
Price first. The Falcons stay a bet down to Atlanta +0.28, so +3, +2.5, +1 and +0.5 are all bets. At a pick’em, or with Atlanta favoured, I pass. Cincinnati only becomes the bet if it is getting 5.38 points or more, and nothing in this market is near that.
The real risk is that 2026 is the truth and 2025 is noise. Cincinnati’s seven games say it’s the better team by about two points on a neutral field. If you believe only this season, you still have the three on your side. Check the injury reports and the lineups before you bet.
The total: under 52.5, a lean
Same method for the total: each team’s expected points are the average of what it scored a game and what the other side allowed. On 2025, that’s 24.0 for Cincinnati and 24.85 for Atlanta, a total of 48.85. This season alone gives 48.5. The weighted number is 48.74.
Against 52.5 that is an edge of 3.65 on the under for 2025 and 3.76 on the blend. The under qualifies at 50.85 or higher, and the over would need 46.74 or lower. The spread is the bet I stake, so the under is a lean.
Atlanta games ran low last season: 13 of 17 went under this line. Cincinnati was 9 under and 8 over. This season the Bengals have gone over in 4 of 7, including 79 points against Tennessee, and the Falcons in 3 of 8. The total opened at 48.5 on 13 September and has climbed to 52.5, with one book at 53.
Pick: Falcons +3.
