Hurricanes vs Jets Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
No bet on the Jets at +130. Carolina is the right favourite in Winnipeg, and our number and the price are 2.2 points apart.
The Carolina Hurricanes are -155 and the Winnipeg Jets +130 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 58.3% for Carolina and 41.7% for Winnipeg. Our number has the Jets at 43.9%. A road favourite at this price is what the figures expect too.
How 43.9% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Games at a neutral site are in neither half, and neither team had one.
The Jets went 19-16-6 at Canada Life Centre: 19 wins, 16 regulation losses and 6 after regulation, a 46.3% home win rate over 41 games. The Hurricanes went 24-12-5 on the road and lost 17 of 41, a 41.5% road loss rate. The midpoint is 43.9% for Winnipeg and 56.1% for Carolina.
Both halves point the same way. Winnipeg lost more than half its home games, and Carolina won more than half its road games.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At -155 and +130 they come to 104.3%. Taken out, the Hurricanes are 58.3% and the Jets 41.7%.
Every input is from 2025-26: 41 Winnipeg home games and 41 Carolina road games. This season is not in the figures. The Hurricanes are 6-1-1 and beat Washington 4-2 at home on Tuesday, so they come in on three days off. The Jets are 4-1-2 and lost 4-3 in overtime in Chicago on Thursday.
Winnipeg at home, Carolina on the road
The Jets at home scored 3.02 a game and allowed 3.10, a deficit of 0.08. The Hurricanes on the road scored 3.29 and allowed 2.78, a surplus of 0.51.
The halves the method leaves out: Carolina at home went 29-10-2, a 70.7% win rate, scoring 3.93 and allowing 3.07. Winnipeg on the road went 16-19-6, 39.0%, scoring 2.61 and allowing 3.24.
Over the full season these two were far apart. The Hurricanes finished 53-22-7 with 113 points and outscored opponents by 56, then won the Stanley Cup: 4-0 over Ottawa, 4-0 over Philadelphia, 4-1 over Montreal and 4-2 over Vegas in the final. The Jets finished 35-35-12 with 82 points, were outscored by 29, and did not make the playoffs.
Carolina also won the close ones. The Hurricanes went 24-4-7 in one-goal games and won 14 of the 21 that went past regulation. Winnipeg went 16-12-12 in one-goal games and won 7 of its 19 past 60 minutes.
The Hurricanes won both meetings in 2025-26. The one in Winnipeg, 4-3 on 21 November, is in our number: one of the Jets’ 41 home games and one of Carolina’s 41 road games. The 5-1 Carolina win at home on 28 November is in neither half.

What changes it
A long drift on the Jets. Against the Hurricanes at -155, Winnipeg would need +158 or longer to clear the bar.
For the Hurricanes to become the bet, the price would have to make them 51.1% or less with the margin out, close to a coin flip. They are 58.3% at -155.
Lineups are the other unknown. This page states nothing about who plays for either team on 17 October. Check before you bet.
The total and the puck line
The total is 6.5, over +114 and under -135. The Jets’ games went over 6.5 in 39 of 82, the Hurricanes’ in 44 of 82. Winnipeg’s home games averaged 6.12 goals, Carolina’s road games 6.07.
That is 47.6% and 53.7%, an average of 50.6% for the over. With the margin removed the over is priced at 44.9% and the under at 55.1%. The gap is more than 5 points toward the over. Our method bets the moneyline only, so on the total this is a lean: over 6.5 at +114.
The puck line is close to the price. Carolina is -1.5 at +170 and Winnipeg +1.5 at -205, which is 35.5% and 64.5% without the margin. The Hurricanes won by two goals or more in 29 of 82 games, and the Jets lost by two or more in 23 of 82. Averaged, Carolina -1.5 lands 31.7% of the time, less than 4 points from the price. Pass. The call on the game stays no bet.
