Kraken vs Panthers Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
No bet on the Kraken at +154. The price makes Florida a 62.2% winner, we make it 60.5%, and a 1.7-point gap is not enough.
The Florida Panthers are -185 and the Seattle Kraken +154 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 62.2% for Florida and 37.8% for Seattle. Our number gives the Kraken 39.5%. Both have the Panthers as a clear home favourite and differ only a little on how clear.
How 60.5% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Games at a neutral site are in neither half: Florida’s 5-1 loss to the Rangers at loanDepot park on 2 January, which ESPN marks as a neutral site, is out of its home half; Seattle had none.
The Panthers went 23-14-3 at Amerant Bank Arena: 23 wins, 14 regulation losses and 3 after regulation, a 57.5% home win rate over 40 games. The Kraken went 15-20-6 on the road and lost 26 of 41, a 63.4% road loss rate. The midpoint is 60.5% for Florida and 39.5% for Seattle.
Seattle’s road record carries most of this number. A visitor that lost more than three in five away from home meets a home side that won a little under three in five.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At -185 and +154 they come to 104.3%. Taken out, the Panthers are 62.2% and the Kraken 37.8%.
Every input is from 2025-26: 40 Florida home games and 41 Seattle road games. This season is not in the figures. The Kraken are 5-2-1 and lost 4-3 in overtime in Tampa on Thursday. The Panthers are 4-2-2 and beat Vancouver 3-2 in overtime at home the same night.
Florida at home, Seattle on the road
The Panthers at home scored 3.30 a game and allowed 2.95, a surplus of 0.35. The Kraken on the road scored 2.56 and allowed 3.37, a deficit of 0.81.
The halves the method leaves out: Florida on the road went 17-23-1, a 41.5% win rate, scoring 2.88 and allowing 3.73. Seattle at home went 19-17-5, 46.3%, scoring 2.95 and allowing 3.05.
Over the full season neither team was good. The Panthers finished 40-38-4 with 84 points and were outscored by 25. The Kraken finished 34-37-11 with 79 points and were outscored by 37. Neither made the playoffs.
Florida was strong in tight games: 21-6-4 in one-goal games, and 8 wins in the 12 that went past regulation. Seattle went 13-5-11 in one-goal games and won 8 of its 19 past 60 minutes. The Panthers won by two goals or more in 19 of 82 games and the Kraken lost by two or more in 32 of 82.
The two teams met twice in 2025-26 and split. Florida won 5-4 in a shootout at home on 24 March, and that game is the only meeting in our number: one of the Panthers’ 40 home games and one of the Kraken’s 41 road games. Seattle won 6-2 at home on 15 March, which is in neither half.
Pick: No bet on the Kraken +154
Pass on the moneyline. The gap is 1.7 points toward Seattle, against a threshold of 5.

What changes it
A real move toward the Kraken’s price. Against the Panthers at -185, Seattle would need +192 or longer to clear the bar.
For Florida to become the bet, the price would have to make the Panthers 55.5% or less with the margin out. They are 62.2% at -185.
Lineups are the other unknown. This page states nothing about who plays for either team on 17 October. Check before you bet.
The total and the puck line
The total is 6.5, over +105 and under -125. The Panthers’ games went over 6.5 in 42 of 82, the Kraken’s in 29 of 82. Florida’s home games averaged 6.25 goals, Seattle’s road games 5.93.
That is 51.2% and 35.4%, an average of 43.3% for the over. With the margin removed the over is priced at 46.8% and the under at 53.2%, so our number leans to the under, by less than 4 points. Short of 5. Pass on the total.
The puck line is where the figures part from the price. Florida is -1.5 at +136 and Seattle +1.5 at -162, which is 40.7% and 59.3% without the margin. Averaging the Panthers’ 19 wins by two or more and the Kraken’s 32 losses by two or more, Florida -1.5 lands 31.1% of the time against 40.7% priced. That is 9.6 points toward Kraken +1.5. Our method bets the moneyline only, so on the puck line a gap this size is a lean: Kraken +1.5 at -162. The call on the game stays no bet.
