Week 1 of the NFL Preseason is in the books, and we’re now turning our attention towards the second week of exhibition action.
Although we’ll still be hamstringed by most of the NFL teams’ top players sitting out in Week 1, we’ll at least have a little more NFL betting data to work with. We’ll also have more insight into some of the depth for each roster, which can help us identify value on the boards.
However, if you want more of a glimpse into the real Super Bowl contenders, then you will have to wait until Week 3 of the NFL Preseason where most teams still use it as a dress rehearsal for the regular season.
Let’s huddle up to take a closer look at the NFL Preseason Week 2 slate of games and make our NFL picks .

NFL Preseason Week 2 Predictions
Let’s take a look at some of the more compelling NFL Preseason Week 2 matchups:
Tennessee Titans vs. Atlanta Falcons
My hope for this game is that we get a battle of the dynamic young QBs. For Tennessee, if they don’t play Cam Ward in Week 1, they have to get him a series or two here. It would be crazy to think that Tennessee would sit their rookie QB for the first two weeks of the preseason.
On the other side of the field, Atlanta has a second-year quarterback in Michael Penix who only played a few games last year. This entire offense could use the snaps to continue his development.
Cleveland Browns vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Will this be the Kenny Pickett revenge game? Probably not, but I do expect plenty of drama with how the Cleveland Browns rotate their quarterbacks. With Sanders, Gabriel, Pickett and Flacco all looking for meaningful snaps, it’s going to be entertaining to see who plays when.
I don’t include Watson in this grouping as he’s probably out until proven to be 100% healthy and earns back the confidence of his teammates and franchise.
For the Eagles, this game will be all about the backups and which bubble players can earn a roster spot.
Green Bay Packers vs. Indianapolis Colts
Like Week 1 of the Preseason, this game is all about Jones and Richardson battling it out for the no.1 QB spot with the Indianapolis Colts.
I would imagine if the team is still undecided, then whichever QB started in the previous week, the other will start this week. However, that’s if Richardson is fully healthy by then.
If he’s not, then Jones could be tightening his grip on the starting quarterback spot for the Colts.
The Packers might play their starters for a series in this game. Or, they might take the traditional approach and keep the starters out until next week.
New England Patriots vs. Minnesota Vikings
I’m hoping to see another young QB battle between Drake Maye of the Patriots and JJ McCarthy of the Vikings.
For Preseason Week 1, I detailed the dilemma the Vikings are facing over how much time they play McCarthy due to his preseason injury last year.
For the Patriots, I think we get a series from Maye and starters largely due to the fact that this is a new system and the second-year QB does need some live snaps before the regular season starts.
New York Jets vs. New York Giants
I find this matchup to be more on the soap opera side of things as we have two roommates battling it out. I also wonder if each team will play their new quarterback: Justin Fields for the Jets and Russell Wilson for the Giants.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Aaron Rodgers watch is in full swing by now as I highly doubt the future HOF player actually takes a live snap in Week 1 of the Preseason. Could Mike Tomlin seriously keep him out until the following week?
The Bucs will keep most of their 22 starters on the bench and play their backups along with some of their rookies. We could see a few intriguing positional battles like for the no.3 wide receiver position.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New Orleans Saints
Will Travis Hunter play on both sides of the ball? This will be the hot question each week of the NFL Preseason until we get some answers.
Speaking of answers, I doubt the New Orleans Saints will have one at the QB position by now. So, look to see how new head coach Kellen Moore handles the rotation at QB and which one actually plays better. The one that looks the best, might require you to rush to your fantasy football league waiver wire and pick him up.
Buffalo Bills vs. Chicago Bears
Will we get to see the two franchise QBs play any live snaps this week: Josh Allen for the Bills and Caleb Williams for the Bears?
Another area of drama to watch would be if Buffalo running back James Cook actually plays in this game, number of snaps, or if he’s even on the team by then.
