2025 NFL Preseason Week 2 Odds, Predictions and Schedule

Last Updated on

Week 1 of the NFL Preseason is in the books, and we’re now turning our attention towards the second week of exhibition action.

Although we’re still hamstringed by most of the NFL teams’ top players sitting out in Week 1, we’ll at least have a little more NFL betting data to work with. We’ll also have more insight into some of the depth for each roster and details on injuries from the first preseason games, which will help us identify value on the boards.

However, if you want more of a glimpse into the real Super Bowl contenders, then you will have to wait until Week 3 of the NFL Preseason where most teams still use it as a dress rehearsal for the regular season.

Let’s huddle up to take a closer look at the NFL Preseason Week 2 slate of games and make our NFL picks .

NFL Preseason Week 2 Odds

The NFL odds for Preseason Week 2 are live at the top sports betting sites. The Denver Broncos enter this week as the largest favorites with a -300 moneyline and favored by seven points over the Arizona Cardinals.

Because this is preseason, the best rosters don’t always win as they typically rest many of their top players. So, that gives us a chance to find some appealing Underdogs this week, as well. The Buffalo Bills are popping up as potential underdog picks this week for some pundits.

NFL Preseason Week 2 Predictions

Check out our NFL picks for all of the Preseason Week 2 matchups:

Tennessee Titans vs. Atlanta Falcons Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
Tennessee Titans-240-5.5 (-110)Over 38 (-110)
Atlanta Falcons+195+5.5 (-110)Under 38 (-110)

Well, the hope was that we would see Cam Ward (Titans) and Michael Penix (Falcons) play for a quarter in this week’s game. Unfortunately, the Falcons won’t play Penix or most of their veterans and stars. So, this is why the Titans are big favorites for the Preseason Week 2 matchup.

Tennessee lost 29-7 to the Bucs last weekend, but Ward looked solid in his short appearance. The Falcons lost 17-10 to the Lions.

Tennessee is 5-1 SU in their last five August games. I see them pushing that to 6-1 as they roll into the Dirty South and take down the Atlanta backups.

Bet: Tennessee Titans (-240)

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Seattle Seahawks Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
Kansas City Chiefs-150-2.5 (-110)Over 42.5 (-110)
Seattle Seahawks+125+2.5 (-110)Under 42.5 (-110)

Last week, Patrick Mahomes and the starters scored a TD in their one drive. It was a glimpse into what could happen this season when everyone is healthy for the Kansas City Chiefs. Although they lost 17-20 to the Cardinals, the starters should play a few series this week and move the ball against Seattle.

Last week, the Seahawks and Raiders tied 23-23. Most of the backups played for both teams. I expect we see more of Seattle’s starters on Friday. With that said, I like KC in this one.

I think they get out to a fast start and their backups hold on to win the game. The Under has gone 10-5 in their last 15 August games. I’m also taking the Under here.

Bet: Kansas City Chiefs (-150), Under 42.5 (-110)

Carolina Panthers vs. Houston Texans Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
Carolina Panthers+135+3 (-110)Over 38.5 (-110)
Houston Texans-160-3 (-110)Under 38.5 (-110)

The Carolina Panthers showed some potential with their starters, but then they quickly were crushed by the Browns 30-10. Nevertheless, Bryce Young looked good and his evolution gives hope to the Panthers this year.

Yet, I don’t have hope for them this weekend. The Panthers are 0-5 ATS in their last five August games. Houston’s starters are better than Carolina’s when you factor in the defenses. So, I like the Texans to win this game at home.

Bet: Houston Texans (-160), Texans -3 (-110)

Cleveland Browns vs. Philadelphia Eagles Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
Cleveland Browns+135+3 (-110)Over 39.5 (-110)
Philadelphia Eagles-160-3 (-110)Under 39.5 (-110)

The Cleveland Browns thumped the Panthers last week by the score of 30-10. Shedeur Sanders got the start and looked the part as he threw for two TDs and 138 yards.

Last week, the Eagles beat the Bengals 34-27. Tanner McKee looked like he should be starting in the NFL somewhere as he threw for 252 yards and 2 TDs.

This week, I expect the Eagles to make life harder for the Browns. In the regular season, Cleveland is 0-6-1 SU in their last seven trips to Philly. I like for the Eagles to win this game at home as they humble Cleveland.

Bet: Philadelphia Eagles (-160)

Green Bay Packers vs. Indianapolis Colts Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
Green Bay Packers+205+6 (-110)Over 40.5 (-110)
Indianapolis Colts-250-6 (-110)Under 40.5 (-110)

The Green Bay Packers looked pathetic in their first Preseason game when they lost at home to the Jets by the score or 30-10. This week, they head to Indy where the Colts have a heated battle for their starting QB position. This is a big reason why Indy is favored by six points as the offense should find success against Green Bay’s backups.

The Colts are 4-2 ATS in their last six games and came up short against the Ravens last week. I expect this team to bounce back on Saturday to pick up a nice win. I also see Anthony Richardson finding success for the half of football he’s about to play.

Bet: Indianapolis Colts (-250)

Miami Dolphins vs. Detroit Lions Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
Miami Dolphins-200-4 (-110)Over 37 (-110)
Detroit Lions+165+4 (-110)Under 37 (-110)

The Dolphins tied with the Bears last week, but come into this matchup as a sizable favorite. I find this rather surprising considering that they’re playing in Detroit who should be rolling out most of their starters for a quarter or two.

The Lions are 4-1 ATS in their last five August games. Keep in mind, they have played two preseason games already. Jared Goff and company haven’t played together as of yet, in live action.

I’m not sold on Miami in the regular season or in the preseason. So, I’m taking Detroit and the points. Even if Miami gets lucky, I don’t see them winning by more than a field goal.

Bet: Detroit Lions +4 (-110)

New England Patriots vs. Minnesota Vikings Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
New England Patriots+170+4 (-110)Over 39.5 (-110)
Minnesota Vikings-195-4 (-110)Under 39.5 (-110)

The New England Patriots offense was fantastic in their opening Preseason action as they won 48-18 against the Commanders. Drake Maye only played for a series or two and should get more time this weekend. Minnesota also looked good in beating Houston last weekend.

This game could be a fun one to watch if both of these young, franchise QBs play at least a quarter. Drake Maye could use a little more action and JJ McCarthy needs more time, as well.

The one player I’m looking forward to watching the most is TreVeyon Henderson. It’s going to be interesting to see if he can carry over the momentum from the first preseason game.

As for the winner, I am siding with Minnesota at home. They’ve gone 5-0 ATS in their last five August games. I think Minnesota’s backups are the deciding factor in this matchup.

Bet: Minnesota Vikings (-195)

San Francisco 49ers vs. Las Vegas Raiders Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
San Francisco 49ers+195+5.5(-110)Over 40.5 (-110)
Las Vegas Raiders-240-5.5 (-110)Under 40.5 (-110)

I think the sportbooks have missed the mark with this line. I’m jumping on the 49ers for this weekend’s game. These two teams have been holding joint practices, which gives them some familiarity for the upcoming game. It also breeds contempt for each other.

The 49ers offense looked terrible last weekend against the Broncos top-notch defense. However, the 49ers starting defense looked promising.

The Raiders are a far cry from Denver. And, I see this San Francisco team playing much better against an inferior opponent. The Raiders are 1-4 ATS in their last five August games.

I don’t see Vegas covering a 5.5 point spread this weekend. I would be surprised if they even win. Give me the 49ers and the points for easy money.

Bet: San Francisco 49ers +5.5 (-110)

Baltimore Ravens vs. Dallas Cowboys Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
Baltimore Ravens-125-1.5 (-110)Over 37 (-110)
Dallas Cowboys+105+1.5 (-110)Under 37 (-110)

Baltimore was my favorite pick for Preseason Week 1, and they came away with the victory. Keaton Mitchell tore it up for the offense as he reminded everyone just how explosive he can be when fully healthy.

The Ravens are now 17-4 SU in their last 21 August games. Dallas is 4-11 SU in their last 15 August games and didn’t impress me at all last week.

I like Baltimore’s starters and backups to outplay the Cowboys. In fact, I don’t see a scenario where Jerry’s Team comes away with the win in this game.

Bet: Baltimore Ravens (-125)

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Los Angeles Rams Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
Los Angeles Chargers-205-4 (-110)Over 37 (-110)
Los Angeles Rams+170+4 (-110)Under 37 (-110)

In the first of two games featuring roommates, the LA Chargers and Rams will play against each other on Saturday. Surprisingly, the Chargers are 4-point favorites. That’s largely due to the Rams never really playing their top stars in the Preseason.

The Chargers did look good against the Saints last week, in their second game of the Preseason. I believe we see Herbert and company this week, which will be a catalyst for the Chargers to pick up the victory.

The Chargers are 2-0 in the Preseason as they keep winning despite their starters not playing. So, that trend should continue even when Herbert and starters get some action this week.

I like the Chargers to win the game, but I’m not confident in the Bolts covering the spread.

Bet: Los Angeles Chargers (-205)

New York Jets vs. New York Giants Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
New York Jets+150+3 (-110)Over 39 (-110)
New York Giants-165-3 (-110)Under 39 (-110)

In the second battle of roommates, the New York Giants and New York Jets battle for bragging rights. Both teams are coming off impressive wins and want to carry that momentum over into Week 2 of the Preseason.

With that said, the Jets are 5-0 SU in their last five August games. The Giants are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 August games despite looking good against Buffalo’s backups last week.

I’m going to stick with the Jets for this game. I think they keep their winning streak going behind solid play from starters and backups. I don’t see the Giants playing as well this week as they did last week.

Look for New York’s running game to do some damage in this contest, especially with Justin Fields as he will be under pressure from the front four of the Giants.

Bet: New York Jets +3 (-110)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
Tampa Bay Buccaneers-140-2.5 (-110)Over 40 (-110)
Pittsburgh Steelers+120+2.5 (-110)Under 40 (-110)

I really liked what I saw from the Buccaneers in last week. I think we get more of the same. The Bucs are 5-1 ATS in their last six August games, which included beating the Titans 29 to 7 last week. I think we’ll see Bake Mayfield and a few other starters play on Saturday, which should make it even easier for Tampa to win.

I don’t trust this Steelers team, with or without Rodgers playing. I also question their depth. They fared well last week against the Jaguars, but Jacksonville isn’t as good as Tampa Bay is.

I think Tampa rolls to another blowout win, this time at the expect of the Steelers.

Bet:  Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-140), Bucs -2.5 (-110)

Arizona Cardinals vs. Denver Broncos Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
Arizona Cardinals+240+7 (-110)Over 40 (-110)
Denver Broncos-300-7 (-110)Under 40 (-110)

If the 49ers can’t find much success against Denver, then I don’t see the Cardinals doing what the 49ers couldn’t. And, to make things worse for Arizona, this game will be played in Denver.

The Broncos defense showed up last week. I expect more of the same this week. The Broncos are 5-0 SU in their last five August games. Look for the team to extend that streak to 6-0 after Saturday. I think the starters for Denver will find success, and the backups will seal the victory.

Bet: Denver Broncos (-300)

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New Orleans Saints Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
Jacksonville Jaguars-120-1.5 (-110)Over 40.5 (-110)
New Orleans Saints+100+1.5 (-110)Under 40.5 (-110)

Now, here’s a game that would be the worst matchup of the week if it were in the regular season. Since it’s still the Preseason, we could get some fireworks especially from the rookies on both teams.

For the Jaguars, Travis Hunter played both ways last week versus the Steelers. For the Saints, Tyler Shough had a decent outing with 165 passing yards and a touchdown. He should find more success this week as he fights for the starting QB role with New Orleans.

With that said, I do think the Jaguars pick up the victory here. They’re 6-1 ATS in their last seven August games, while the Saints are 1-4 ATS in their last five games in August. Take the Jags to get the win behind strong performances from their offensive stars.

Bet: Jacksonville Jaguars (-120), Jaguars -1.5 (-110)

Buffalo Bills vs. Chicago Bears Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
Buffalo Bills+115+2 (-110)Over 40 (-110)
Chicago Bears-135-2 (-110)Under 40 (-110)

The Buffalo Bills didn’t play Josh Allen last week, and it showed. This week, he could suit up for a few drives. In fact, James Cook could also play, as well.

The Chicago Bears tied the Dolphins last week as their starters didn’t play. We could see Caleb Williams and company show up this Sunday versus the Bills.

Even if Allen plays, I don’t see it being a lot. However, I do envision a scenario where Caleb Williams plays a quarter or two. This offensive starting unit needs reps to gel together under their new head coach and offensive system.

Chicago is 5-0-1 ATS in their last six August games. Buffalo doesn’t really care about the Preseason other than getting some reps and nobody getting hurt. With their rash of injuries during training camp, and some in last week’s game, I see Buffalo getting their starters in and out as quickly as possible. Chicago wins this game and covers.

Bet: Chicago Bears (-135), Bears -2 (-110)

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Washington Commanders Odds

TeamMoneylineSpreadTotal
Cincinnati Bengals-220-4.5 (-110)Over 42 (-110)
Washington Commanders+180+4.5 (-110)Under 42 (-110)

The final game of the preseason would be an epic battle if it was during the regular season. We’ll be lucky to see LSU alumni Joe Burrow (Bengals) and Jayden Daniels (Commanders) play a few series in this matchup.

Burrow and the starters looked great last week when they put up two touchdowns against Philly. The Commanders looked atrocious versus the Patriots.

I think we see Washington bounced back and play with some pride as their will be jobs on the line. Cincy is 0-5 SU In their last five August games.

I’m not ready to say Washington will win outright, but I do like taking the Commanders and the points in this matchup. They will be at home and Dan Quinn will be ready to cut players that don’t improve from last week’s debacle.

Bet: Washington Commanders +4.5 (-110)

Best NFL Preseason Week 2 Bets

Check out our best bets for Week 2 of the NFL Preseason:

  • Houston Texans -3 (-110)
  • Detroit Lions +4 (-110)
  • San Francisco 49ers +5.5 (-110)
  • Baltimore Ravens (-125)

The Panthers are 0-5 ATS in their last five August games. Houston has a better overall team and is playing at home. I expect that they easily cover the field goal spread.

Detroit is at home and, as of this writing, it’s believed that the starting offense will see a few drives. The Lions are 4-1 ATS in their last five August games and they’re hosting the Dolphins this Saturday. I like Detroit and the points.

The 49ers should play their starters more in this game. And, I expect their offense to show up this weekend, unlike last week. Plus, the Raiders are 1-4 ATS in their last five August games.

The Ravens are 17-4 SU in their last 21 August games. The Cowboys are 4-11 SU in their last 15 August games. Enough said!
