The NFL Super Bowl is the most-watched sporting event of the Year. Over 100 million people are expected to tune into the big game next month, and with sports gambling becoming legal across the United States, I would expect that number to grow.

1. MVP’s are Not Good Luck
Since 2001, eight NFL MVPs have gone to the Super Bowl, and all eight have lost.
2. White Jerseys
Teams that have worn their white jersey in the Super Bowls have gone on to win 15 of the last 18 games. The last three teams to wear their colored jerseys and win were the Packers (SB 45), Eagles (SB 52), and Chiefs (SB 54).
3. Only seven NFL franchises have completed the task of winning back-to-back Super Bowls.

Vince Lombardi led the Green Bay Packers to back-to-back Super Bowl Victories in 1966 and 1967, which was also the very first two years the Super Bowl was introduced. It’s also no coincidence that the winning team receives the Lombardi Trophy which in fact was named after the legendary coach, Vince Lombardi.
5. Underdog QBs
Only three Quarterbacks have won multiple Super Bowls being an underdog. Tom Brady, Eli Manning, and Jim Plunkett all have won two as underdogs.
6. Comeback
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots hold the record for the largest comeback win in Super Bowl history. Brady and the Patriots were down 28-3, and eventually won Super Bowl LI 34-28 in an overtime thriller.

7. Underdogs have won 7 of the last 11 Super Bowls straight up
8. The AFC is 7-2 in the last nine Super Bowls vs. NFC West teams. Their two losses were the Bengals lost to the Rams in 2022, and the Broncos lost to the Seahawks in 2014.

11. Steelers’ running backs hold the record for the longest rush in Super Bowl history. Back in 2005, He had a 75-yard rushing touchdown against the Seattle Seahawks
12. Terrell Davis of the Denver Broncos scored three rushing touchdowns against the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XXXII.
13. Oakland Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon threw a record five interceptions against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXVII
14. Tom Brady holds the Super Bowl Record for most passing yards in a single game, 505.
15. Jerry Rice is the only player in Super Bowl history to record three receiving touchdowns in one game. He has done it twice, in SB XXIX and XXIV.
