New Schedule Means Updated Odds for SEC Football Championship

It’s time to take a new look at the odds for the SEC Football Championship! Due to COVID-19, there is a new schedule recently released by the SEC. Gone are the puff games used to build winning records.

Those games have been replaced with battles against previously unscheduled SEC foes.

It’s a trimmed-down schedule with some twists – but one thing remains the same – Alabama is the favorite to win the SEC Championship outright. Alabama and Georgia seem to be the contenders with a few other obvious programs coming in +1400 and lower.

2020 SEC Championship Top Contenders

Alabama Crimson Tide -130

Georgia Bulldogs +240

LSU Tigers +700

Florida Gators +800

Auburn Tigers +1400

Texas A&M +1400

The eye-opening part of the odds list is the gap between the favorites and the other teams in the SEC. Texas A&M comes in at +1400 with the next school, Tennessee, sporting a +10000. That’s a huge gap!

But it’s also a window for a huge sports betting payoff if somebody takes one of the teams after Texas A&M and that school pulls out the miracle season.

Complete odds with predicted win totals for the fourteen SEC football teams are listed below following schedule breakdown.

The Weekly SEC Football Schedule 2020

The new schedule for the SEC is all-conference only starting the week of September 26th. The SEC is not allowing programs to schedule games outside of the conference which gives each team a ten-game regular season schedule because of the COVID-19 impact on college football.

The schedule also includes several off days after the first few weeks and a built-in “make-up” day for any games postponed due to COVID-19.
