NJIT Highlanders

College Basketball

The Highlanders lost more games than they won in 2025-26 and still returned 21.13 moneyline units, the third-best figure in Division I. More than all of it was earned on the road: 21.53 units across 17 priced away games.

A losing record that paid

NJIT finished 16-17. Back them to win in each of their 30 priced games and you finished 21.13 units up. Only two Division I teams returned more.

Away from home the Highlanders went 8-11, and that bet made 21.53 units in 17 priced road games; one team in the country made more on the road. At home it lost 0.4.

Three prices carried it

The tell was the size of the number. They won at Fordham 72-61 at +900 in their first game, at Loyola Maryland 66-64 at +425 a week later, and at Vermont 79-77 at +850 on 31 January. As underdogs they went 9-13 in 22 games; the 21 priced ones made 20.13 units, a figure only three teams beat.

November was a 3-6 month and still closed 9.96 units up, because two of those three wins came in it. January was the clean one: 6-2 straight up, 6-2 against the spread, 15.29 units.

Against the spread

The Highlanders covered 18 of 31 lined games, 58.1%. They covered 13 of 22 as underdogs and 11 of 18 on the road. Laying points was rarer and thinner: nine games as favorites, six wins, five covers, and one unit to win in each of those nine returned exactly 1.0.
