Florida vs Georgia Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Our number has Georgia by 17.7. At -12.5, take Georgia.
No. 3 Georgia is a 12.5-point favorite over No. 17 Florida at DraftKings, the same line it opened at. Our number is Georgia by 17.7. The gap is 5.2 points on Georgia’s side, and the threshold for a bet is 3.
The prices and what they say
The spread is Georgia -12.5 at -108 and Florida +12.5 at -112, read at DraftKings on 30 October 2026 at 00:40 UTC. The moneyline is Georgia -470 and Florida +360.
A book builds in a margin, an extra amount that makes the two prices add up to more than 100%. With that margin taken out, the moneyline gives Georgia a 79.1% chance to win and Florida 20.9%. ESPN’s FPI is close to the market, at 81.9% for Georgia and 18.1% for Florida. The moneyline is context only. The method stakes the spread.
How 17.7 is reached
Our number is half the difference between the home team’s average margin at home and the visitor’s average margin on the road. It counts FBS opponents only, across 2025 and 2026 together. Bowl and playoff games are neutral and are left out of both halves.
Georgia is 8-2 at home against FBS teams over that span, winning by 22.0 points a game. Florida is 2-6 on the road against FBS teams, losing by 13.4 a game. Half the difference between +22.0 and -13.4 is 17.7.
The base is 18 games: 10 for Georgia and 8 for Florida. Both samples clear the 4-game minimum the rule sets.
One limit applies to this game in particular. It is played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, a neutral site, and the method still uses Georgia’s home half. It makes no adjustment for that. Our view is that this flatters Georgia somewhat, by an amount the data does not measure.
Georgia at home, Florida on the road
Georgia’s home games against FBS teams this season: 70-20 over Western Kentucky on 12 September, 41-13 over Oklahoma on 26 September, 38-14 over Vanderbilt on 3 October, and a 27-24 loss to Auburn on 17 October. The rest of the 10-game sample is from 2025. The 50-point win over Western Kentucky is the largest result in it.
Florida’s road games this season are better than its sample. It won 44-39 at Auburn on 19 September, lost 45-17 at Missouri on 3 October and won 27-24 at Texas on 17 October. The weight comes from 2025, when Florida went 0-5 on the road.
That is the weak point of this number. Florida’s road half is mostly last season’s Florida, and this season’s road results are two wins in three.
The halves the method leaves out: Georgia won 45-17 at Arkansas and 20-17 at Alabama this season. Florida is 3-1 at home this season, including 52-28 over Ole Miss and a 38-19 loss to South Carolina.
2026 so far
None of this section is inside our number. It is the season as it stands.
Georgia is 6-1 and 4-1 in the SEC, on a one-game losing streak after the Auburn loss. It has scored 43.0 points a game and allowed 15.9, a margin of +27.1. Against its six FBS opponents it is 5-1 with a margin of +21.7. Its other win was 63-3 over Tennessee State, a team outside the FBS.
Florida is 5-2 and 3-2 in the SEC, coming off the 27-24 win at Texas. It has scored 39.6 and allowed 28.3, a margin of +11.3. Against FBS teams it is 4-2 with a margin of +5.0. Its other win was 52-3 over Campbell. The two losses came back to back: 45-17 at Missouri and 38-19 at home to South Carolina.
This season’s FBS margins, +21.7 for Georgia and +5.0 for Florida, point the same way as our number. They agree on the side. Our number goes further than the market does.
Last season and the meeting
Georgia went 12-2 in 2025, 6-1 at home and 3-0 on the road, scoring 32.1 and allowing 17.6 for a margin of +14.5. It lost 39-34 to Ole Miss on 1 January 2026, at a neutral site.
Florida went 4-8, 4-2 at home and 0-5 on the road, scoring 21.6 and allowing 24.0 for a margin of -2.4.
The teams met once in the span. Georgia won 24-20 on 1 November 2025, at a neutral site. The method uses no neutral games, so that one is not in our number. It is also the closest result between these teams in the data: a 4-point game against a 12.5-point spread.
Pick: Georgia -12.5
Georgia -12.5 at -108, at DraftKings, read 30 October 2026 at 00:40 UTC. The line opened at -12.5 and has not moved.
The gap is 5.2 points against a 3-point threshold. It rests on 18 games, split 10 and 8. Georgia’s half is the stronger one; Florida’s half leans on a 2025 road record of 0-5.
What kills the bet
The line. Georgia is a bet up to -14.7. Past that, the gap falls under 3 points and the call becomes a pass. Florida would need +20.7 or more to be the bet.
The risks are two. The game is at a neutral site, and our number uses Georgia’s home split. Florida’s road form this season is 2-1, better than the 2-6 the method sees. Both push toward Florida, and neither is measured here.
The injury list on the ESPN game page, read 30 October 2026 at 00:39 UTC, carried no entries for either team. Check the lineups before you bet.
The total
The total is 56.5, up from 53.5 at the open. The over is -112 and the under -108.
Against FBS teams across 2025 and 2026, Georgia’s games went over 56.5 in 6 of 19, and Florida’s in 7 of 17. This season Georgia’s six FBS games produced 90, 62, 54, 52, 37 and 51 points. Florida’s produced 87, 83, 80, 62, 57 and 51. Last season’s meeting produced 44.
No bet on the total. The method stakes the spread only, and the over and under counts are a count, not a number we bet. Florida’s 2026 games sit mostly above 56.5 and Georgia’s mostly below it, and that split says nothing on its own.
