Florida International vs Liberty Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Our number has Liberty by 6. At +14, take Florida International.
Liberty is a 14-point favorite over Florida International at DraftKings. Our number is Liberty by 6.0. That leaves a gap of 8.0 points on Florida International’s side, and a bet here needs at least 3. This Florida International vs Liberty prediction stakes the spread, and the odds below show why the price is too long.
How Liberty by 6.0 is reached
The method takes two averages and halves the difference between them. One is the home team’s average margin at home. The other is the visitor’s average margin on the road. Both use FBS opponents only, across 2025 and 2026 together. Bowl and playoff games are played at neutral sites, so they are left out.
Liberty is 4-3 at home against FBS teams over that span, winning by 10.3 points a game. Florida International is 3-6 on the road against FBS teams, losing by 1.8 a game. Half the difference between +10.3 and -1.8 is 6.0, so our line is Liberty -6.
The rule needs at least 4 games in each sample. Liberty’s sample has 7 and Florida International’s has 9, so both clear it.
The moneyline tells the same story as the spread. Liberty is -600 and Florida International is +440. A book builds a margin into its prices, so the two implied chances add up to more than 100%. With that margin taken out, the market gives Liberty an 82.2% chance to win and Florida International 17.8%. ESPN’s FPI is higher on Liberty, at 88.1%. Our method stakes the spread, not the moneyline, so these figures are context only.
Liberty at home, Florida International on the road
Two of Liberty’s seven home games against FBS teams are from this season: 51-15 over Ball State on 19 September and 35-3 over Sam Houston on 8 October. The rest come from 2025, a season in which Liberty went 3-3 at home and 4-8 overall.
Florida International’s road half covers 2026 and 2025 as well. This season it is 0-3 on the road against FBS teams, and all three losses were close: 19-9 at South Florida, 16-10 at Florida Atlantic and 27-24 at Jacksonville State on 13 October. In 2025 it went 3-3 on the road. None of the three 2026 road losses was by more than 10 points, and that is the core of our number.
The method leaves out Liberty’s road games and Florida International’s home games. Florida International is 3-1 at home this season. Liberty has won three road games against FBS teams this season by 17, 16 and 28.
This season so far
Our number does not use this season’s overall records. Liberty is 6-1, 3-0 in Conference USA and 3-0 at home. It scores 31.6 points a game, allows 14.0, and its average margin is +17.6. Against FBS teams alone the margin is +20.3, with a 5-1 record. Its one loss was 20-13 at James Madison on 5 September. It also won 24-23 over Gardner-Webb, which is not an FBS team. Its most recent game was a 34-6 win at Kennesaw State on 22 October.
Florida International is 3-4 and 1-2 in the conference. It scores 20.1 and allows 16.3, a margin of +3.9, and against FBS teams it is 2-4 at +1.7. It has lost its last two games, 27-24 at Jacksonville State and 26-23 at home to Middle Tennessee on 20 October.
On this season alone, Liberty looks like the much stronger side, and that is the case for the market’s 14. Our number gives more weight to two seasons than to six FBS games.
Last season and the meeting
Liberty went 4-8 in 2025 with an average margin of -0.9, including 1-5 on the road. Florida International went 7-6 at -1.5 a game. It lost its bowl game 57-20 to UTSA on 26 December 2025 at a neutral site.
The two teams met once in this span. Florida International won 34-27 at home on 15 November 2025. That was a Florida International home game, so it falls outside the method, which uses Liberty at home and Florida International on the road.
