Stars Aim to Complete Perfect Homestand Against Flames

Red-Hot Stars Eye Another Victory as Flames Visit Dallas

The Dallas Stars are on fire, riding an 11-2-1 run as they push toward the top of the Central Division and Western Conference standings. With six consecutive home wins, Dallas looks to complete a perfect four-game homestand when they face the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.

Their latest victory over the New Jersey Devils (4-3) on Tuesday was a thriller, with Thomas Harley scoring the game-winner with just 4.8 seconds remaining.

“Over a long season, you don’t want to be doing that every night,” Stars coach Peter DeBoer said, “but we did some good things to build a 3-1 lead. Give them credit, they played hard and made us earn it.”

With 21 games left in the regular season, the Stars sit six points behind the Winnipeg Jets for the Western Conference lead, with one game in hand.

A win against Calgary would continue their momentum as they chase the top spot in the West.

Stars’ Offense Firing on All Cylinders

Dallas has one of the most dynamic offenses in the NHL, and multiple players are red-hot heading into Thursday’s contest.

Key Performers for the Stars:

  • Wyatt Johnston: Seven-game point streak (7 goals, 5 assists)
  • Roope Hintz: Three-point outing vs. New Jersey (1 goal, 2 assists)
  • Jason Robertson: Two points against the Devils
  • Thomas Harley: Game-winning goal in the final seconds Tuesday

Even unlikely contributors are stepping up. Ilya Lyubushkin, a defensive stalwart, scored his first goal in nearly two years in Tuesday’s win.

“It’s a reward for all the hard work that he’s done,” Harley said of Lyubushkin. “He plays the right way and probably deserves more goals than he gets.”

With scoring depth throughout the lineup, the Stars continue to be one of the most dangerous teams in the NHL.

Flames Seek Strong Finish to Road Trip

While the Stars are rolling, the Calgary Flames are fighting to hold onto a playoff spot.

Sitting in the Western Conference’s second wild-card position, the Flames snapped a three-game skid (0-2-1) with a much-needed 6-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.

After scoring just four total goals in their first four games of the trip, Calgary exploded for four goals in the first period against Philadelphia, including three in a span of 1:52.

“It’s nice to score some goals, obviously, it’s been a tough stretch,” said Flames forward Morgan Frost. “Especially when you get out to a start like that, it’s huge and it kinda gives you confidence right away.”

NHL Betting Tips

Calgary’s 2-2-1 record on this road trip is respectable, but a win over Dallas would solidify their standing in the wild-card race.

Flames’ Key Players Stepping Up:

  • Connor Zary: Snapped his cold streak with two goals Tuesday
  • Yegor Sharangovich: Ended his scoring drought with a big goal
  • Nazem Kadri: One goal, one assist vs. Flyers

The difference in Calgary’s morale was clear after their breakout performance, and they’ll look to carry that momentum into Dallas.

“No doubt about it, for guys to find the back of the net, I think it does a lot for a player’s confidence,” said Kadri. “You’ve got to give us credit, we had a great first period, and that was the difference.”

Stars vs. Flames: What’s at Stake?

Both teams have a lot on the line heading into Thursday’s matchup.

For Dallas, a win would extend their home winning streak to seven games, complete a perfect homestand, and keep them in the hunt for the top seed in the West.

For Calgary, it’s a chance to stay ahead in the wild-card race and build momentum after their offensive explosion against the Flyers.

Can the Stars keep their home dominance alive, or will the Flames spoil their perfect homestand?

All eyes will be on American Airlines Center for what promises to be an intense Western Conference showdown.
