Texans vs Jaguars Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

No bet in London. My number has Jacksonville by 1.7 and the market asks 2.5, so Houston at +4 is where this becomes a bet.

Houston plays Jacksonville at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 18 October, kickoff 9:30 AM ET. Jacksonville is the home team on paper, but it is a neutral field, so nobody gets points for home here.

My number is plain arithmetic. I take each team’s points differential per game from last season, subtract one from the other, and set the result against the spread. Two points or more between my number and the market’s is a bet. Inside two points, I pass.

Pick: no bet on the side

Houston went 12-5 last season, scoring 404 and allowing 295. That is plus 109, or plus 6.4 a game. Jacksonville went 13-4, scoring 474 and allowing 336: plus 138, or plus 8.1 a game.

My number is Jacksonville by 1.7. Nine of the 11 US sportsbooks in the read of 16 October have Jacksonville -2.5, and BetRivers and BetUS have -2. The gap is 0.8 points. That is a pass, and it is not close.

Is a two-and-a-half-point favourite wrong about two teams this even? Not by my rule. These two split last season’s meetings. Jacksonville won 17-10 at home on 21 September 2025, and Houston won 36-29 at home on 9 November 2025.

The line has gone the other way

DraftKings opened this game with Houston a 1.5-point favourite. It now has Jacksonville -2.5 at -120, with Houston +2.5 at even money. That is four points toward the Jaguars.

The season explains it. Jacksonville is 4-1 and plus 53: 34-10 over Cleveland, a 20-13 loss at Denver, 35-6 over New England, 22-17 at Cincinnati and 19-17 over Philadelphia in London. Houston is 1-4 and minus 2. The Texans lost 36-31 to Buffalo, 20-6 to Cincinnati, 19-17 at Indianapolis and 34-30 to Dallas, then won 26-3 at Tennessee on 11 October. They are 0-3 at home.

On this season alone, Jacksonville is 11 points a game better. I believe some of that, and it is why I will not touch Houston at +2.5. It is five games against seventeen, though, and three of Houston’s four losses were by five points or fewer. I stay with the 17-game number, and the 17-game number says pass.

London is not new to the Jaguars. They lost 35-7 to the Rams there last season and beat the Eagles there in Week 5.

The total: no bet

The total is 42.5 at all 11 books. DraftKings has the over at -112 and the under at -108.

I run it the same way as the side: each team’s scoring last season against the other’s points allowed, averaged, then added. Houston scored 23.8 and Jacksonville allowed 19.8. Jacksonville scored 27.9 and Houston allowed 17.4. That comes to 44.45, which is 1.95 over the market. My bar is two, so I pass by a twentieth of a point. I do not round my way into a bet.

Last season’s games went over 42.5 in 6 of 17 for Houston and 10 of 17 for Jacksonville. This season Houston’s games have finished on 67, 26, 36, 64 and 29 points, and Jacksonville’s on 44, 33, 41, 39 and 36.

The moneyline

The median of 11 books has Jacksonville at -145 and Houston at +124. With the margin taken out, that prices Houston to win 43.0% of the time.

My rule prices the spread, not the moneyline, and the spread says these teams are close to where the market has them. No bet there either.

What would change it

The price. Houston becomes a bet at +4, where the gap reaches 2.3. Jacksonville becomes a bet only if it is getting points: at +0.5 the gap is 2.2. On the total, I take the over at 42 or lower and the under at 46.5 or higher. Read both injury reports before you bet: nothing in this piece says who is available.

No bet on Texans at Jaguars at these prices.
