College Basketball Futures Odds: Florida Leads the Title Board at +570

College basketball futures odds, 14 days before the season tips off: the Florida Gators are the favorite to win the national title at +570, with the Duke Blue Devils at +600 and the UConn Huskies at +1350. These are DraftKings’ prices as ESPN’s odds feed listed them at 12:57 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, October 18, across 11 boards: the title, the Final Four, the Wooden Award and eight conference regular-season races.

The season opens on Sunday, November 1 with Notre Dame at Villanova (Eternal City Tip-Off), and ESPN lists 181 games the next day. We state no futures pick on this page. It gives each board’s leaders and what their prices imply, and links to our own page on the market where we have one.

The implied chance is the price turned into a percentage, with the book’s margin still in it. Our guide to futures bets explains how these prices settle and why they pay the way they do.

The national title

102 teams have a price to win the national championship. Florida at +570 implies 14.9%, Duke at +600 14.3%, and the gap to third is wide: UConn sits at +1350, 6.9%. Illinois is fourth at +1400.

Add every price’s implied chance and the board comes to 143.1%, so 43.1 points of it are margin. Take that out evenly and Florida is a 10.4% chance, Duke 10.0%. Our college basketball championship odds page covers the title race in more depth.

To make the Final Four

This board pays if the team reaches the Final Four, so four of its 102 teams win. That is why its implied chances add up to 484.4%, about four times a one-winner board. Florida is +140 (41.7%), Duke +150 (40.0%) and UConn +310 (24.4%).

Scaled to four places, Florida’s price is a 34.4% chance and Duke’s 33.0%. More on the Final Four is on our Final Four odds page.

The Wooden Award

The Wooden Award goes to the season’s best player. DraftKings prices 99 players. Jeremy Fears Jr. of Michigan State leads at +850 (10.5%), ahead of Thomas Haugh of Florida at +1000 and John Blackwell of Duke at +1200.

A board this long is spread thin: the leader’s price implies about one chance in 10, and the board adds up to 157.8%. Our Wooden Award odds page has more on the award.

The conference races

These boards are for the regular-season title in each conference, not the conference tournament. DraftKings lists eight of them.

Two favorites are priced to win more often than not: the Duke Blue Devils in the ACC at -132 (56.9%) and the Grand Canyon Lopes in the Mountain West at -115 (53.5%). The tightest race is the Missouri Valley, where the Murray State Racers at +235 and the UIC Flames at +250 are 1.3 points apart on implied chance.

Florida leads both its conference board (+110 in the SEC) and the title board. Duke, second on the title board, is the shortest conference favorite of the eight at -132 in the ACC.

Where these numbers come from

Every price is DraftKings’, as ESPN’s college basketball futures feed listed it at 12:57 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, October 18; a second read 20 seconds later held the same prices on all 11 boards.
