UIC Flames

The Flames lost five of six in December 2025 and then won eight in a row, and January alone returned 11.32 units on their moneyline. Over the season one unit on UIC in every priced game made 3.01, 4.53 of it on the road.

December, the hole

UIC went 1-5 in December, covered once in five and lost 5.0 units. The low point was a 63-62 home loss to Arkansas-Pine Bluff laying 16.5 at -1650.

January, the run

Then eight straight wins, all of them in January. Three came as road underdogs and paid long: 63-59 at Illinois State at +500, 69-61 at Northern Iowa at +235 and 85-70 at Bradley at +245. January finished 8-2 with eight covers in ten and 11.32 units, more than the whole season’s profit.

Road money

UIC’s road ledger: 8 covers in 15, and 4.53 units on the moneyline; only 44 Division I teams made more away from home. At home the same bet lost 1.01. As underdogs the Flames covered 10 of 17 and the moneyline made 2.19 units.

Conference opponents

Drake lost all three meetings with UIC and never covered, the last 72-51 in the conference tournament semifinal. Illinois State, Bradley and Southern Illinois each lost twice to UIC with two covers. Northern Iowa won two of three, the last the conference tournament final, 84-69. The season ended in the NIT, 91-73 at California.

Over the season UIC covered 18 of 32, 56.2%.

Laying points

Favored 15 times, the Flames won 11 and covered 8, and the favorite moneyline made 0.82 units. Two late favorite losses cost the most: 71-67 at home to Valparaiso at -340, and 79-63 at Indiana State at -185 in the last game before the conference tournament.

The total

Seventeen unders and 15 overs, and a UIC defense that allowed 69.97 points a game; 71 Division I teams allowed fewer. Not enough for a total lean.
