Cavaliers vs 76ers Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Bet the Cavaliers at +120. Our number gives Cleveland on the road 52.4%; the price gives them 43.7%.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are +120 and the Philadelphia 76ers -142 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 43.7% for Cleveland and 56.3% for Philadelphia. Last season’s home and road records put Cleveland 8.7 points higher than that, and make the Cavaliers the favourite. We bet at 5.
How 52.4% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Games at a neutral site are in neither half; neither team played one.
The 76ers went 23-18 at Xfinity Mobile Arena, a 56.1% home win rate over 41 games. The Cavaliers went 25-16 on the road and lost 16 of 41, a 39.0% road loss rate. The midpoint is 47.6% for Philadelphia and 52.4% for Cleveland.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At +120 and -142 they come to 104.1%. Taken out, the Cavaliers are 43.7% and the 76ers 56.3%.
Philadelphia opened 2026-27 with a 106-100 win at New York on 20 October; Cleveland has not played yet. Our number reads 2025-26 only, so that game is not in it. Rosters change over a summer, and the number does not see that either. That is the main risk in this bet.
Philadelphia at home, Cleveland on the road
At home the 76ers scored 115.4 points a game and allowed 116.5, a deficit of 1.1. The Cavaliers on the road scored 119.9 and allowed 116.2, a surplus of 3.7.
The halves the method leaves out: Cleveland at home went 27-14, scoring 119.2 and allowing 114.6. Philadelphia on the road went 22-19, scoring 116.4 and allowing 115.6.
Over the full season, the 76ers finished 45-37, seventh in the East, and were outscored by 15 points, 0.2 a game. The Cavaliers finished 52-30, fourth, and outscored opponents by 337 points, 4.1 a game. In the playoffs Philadelphia beat the Boston Celtics 4-3 and lost to the New York Knicks 4-0, and Cleveland beat the Toronto Raptors 4-3 and the Detroit Pistons 4-3 before losing to the New York Knicks 4-0.
The Cavaliers won all four meetings. In Philadelphia, the Cavaliers won 133-107 on 14 January and 117-115 on 16 January; those games are in our number: two of the 76ers’ 41 home games and two of the Cavaliers’ 41 road games. In Cleveland, the Cavaliers won 132-121 on 5 November and 115-101 on 9 March; those are in neither half.
Pick: Cavaliers +120
Bet the Cavaliers on the moneyline at +120. The gap is 8.7 points toward Cleveland, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Cavaliers +120 and 76ers -142 on 21 October 2026 at 05:50 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Cavaliers +145 and 76ers -175, so it has moved toward Cleveland since.
What kills the bet
A shorter Cleveland price. At +111 or longer the Cavaliers are a bet whatever Philadelphia is priced at; with the 76ers at -142, they stay a bet down to -112.
For the 76ers to become the bet, the market would have to give them 42.6% or less with the margin out. It gives them 56.3%.
ESPN’s injury list for the game, read 21 October 2026 at 05:51 UTC, has Tacko Fall (hip), Dominick Barlow (back) and Ariel Hukporti (Achilles) out and Dean Wade (ankle) day-to-day for Philadelphia, and Nae’Qwan Tomlin (back) out and Sam Merrill (elbow) and Khalifa Diop (knee) day-to-day for Cleveland. The NBA has no key-player rule in our method, so the list does not change the number. Check the injury report again before tip-off.
Our number still gives Cleveland a 47.6% chance of losing. The case is that the price pays more than that risk warrants, on last season’s evidence.
The total and the spread
The total is 235.5, over -105 and under -115. The 76ers’ games went over 235.5 in 31 of 82, the Cavaliers’ in 39 of 82. Philadelphia’s home games averaged 231.9 points, Cleveland’s road games 236.1.
That is 37.8% and 47.6%, an average of 42.7% for the over. With the margin removed the over is priced at 48.9% and the under at 51.1%, so our count leans to the under by 6.2 points. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean, not a bet.
The spread is 76ers -2.5 at -115 and Cavaliers +2.5 at -105; it opened 76ers -4.5. Philadelphia won by 3 or more in 40 of 82 games. Cleveland won, or lost by 2 or fewer, in 56 of 82. Averaged, 76ers -2.5 lands 40.2% of the time against 51.1% priced, a gap of 10.9 points toward Cavaliers +2.5. That is a lean too. One bet on this game: the Cavaliers at +120.
