Nets vs Cavaliers Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Bet the Nets at +380. Our number gives Brooklyn 26.8% in Cleveland; the price gives them 20.0%.
The Brooklyn Nets are +380 and the Cleveland Cavaliers -500 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 20.0% for Brooklyn and 80.0% for Cleveland. Last season’s home and road records put Brooklyn 6.8 points higher than that. We bet at 5.
How 26.8% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Games at a neutral site would be in neither half. Neither team played one.
The Cavaliers went 27-14 at home, a 65.9% home win rate over 41 games. The Nets went 8-33 on the road and lost 33 of 41, an 80.5% road loss rate. The midpoint is 73.2% for Cleveland and 26.8% for Brooklyn.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At +380 and -500 the two come to 104.2%. Taken out, the Nets are 20.0% and the Cavaliers 80.0%.
Both teams are 0-1 in 2026-27. Cleveland lost 114-106 at the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday 22 October. Brooklyn lost 110-103 to the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday 21 October. This is Cleveland’s first home game of the season and Brooklyn’s first road game. Our number reads 2025-26 only, so neither opener is in it. Rosters change over a summer, and the number does not see that either. That is the main risk in this bet.
Cleveland at home, Brooklyn on the road
At home the Cavaliers scored 119.2 points a game and allowed 114.6, a margin of 4.6. The Nets on the road scored 103.5 and allowed 116.8, a margin of -13.3.
The method leaves out two halves. Cleveland on the road went 25-16, scoring 119.9 and allowing 116.2. Brooklyn at home went 12-29, scoring 108.4 and allowing 115.0.
The season around it
Over the full 2025-26 season, the Cavaliers finished 52-30, fourth in the Eastern Conference, scoring 119.5 a game and allowing 115.4, a difference of 4.1. The Nets finished 20-62, 13th in the East, scoring 105.9 and allowing 115.9, a difference of -10.0. Cleveland beat the Toronto Raptors 4-3 and the Detroit Pistons 4-3 in the playoffs, then lost to the New York Knicks 4-0. Brooklyn missed the playoffs.
Games decided by 5 points or fewer went 13-7 for Cleveland and 2-12 for Brooklyn. Cleveland won 27 games by 10 or more and lost 17 by that much. Brooklyn won 12 by 10 or more and lost 43. Both sets of close-game records come from small samples, and we do not use them in the number.
The Cavaliers won all three meetings. In Cleveland they won 112-84 on Thursday 19 February 2026. That game is in our number, as one of the Cavaliers’ 41 home games and one of the Nets’ 41 road games. In Brooklyn the Cavaliers won 131-124 on Friday 24 October 2025 and 106-102 on Sunday 1 March 2026. Those two are in neither half.
Pick: Nets +380
Bet the Nets on the moneyline at +380. The gap is 6.8 points toward Brooklyn, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Nets +380 and Cavaliers -500 on 24 October 2026 at 13:02 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Nets +350 and Cavaliers -455. The market has moved toward Cleveland since the open. It gave the Cavaliers 78.7% then and gives them 80.0% now.
What kills the bet
A shorter Brooklyn price kills the bet. At +358 or longer the Nets are a bet whatever Cleveland is priced at. With the Cavaliers at -500, the Nets stay a bet down to +330.
For Cleveland to become the bet, the Cavaliers would have to drift to -214 or longer whatever Brooklyn’s price. With the Nets at +380, the Cavaliers would have to reach +124. Neither is close to the current -500.
ESPN’s injury list for the game was read 24 October 2026 at 13:02 UTC. It has Tyler Bilodeau (forward, shoulder) out for Brooklyn and no one listed for Cleveland. The list does not change our number. Check the lineups before you bet.
Our number still gives Brooklyn a 73.2% chance of losing. The case is that +380 pays more than that risk warrants, on last season’s evidence.
The total and the spread
The total is 227.5, over -110 and under -110. The Cavaliers’ home games went over 227.5 in 24 of 41, a 58.5% rate, and averaged 233.8 points. The Nets’ road games went over in 14 of 41, a 34.1% rate, and averaged 220.3. Across all 82 games, Cleveland went over 54 times and Brooklyn 33.
Averaged, the over lands 46.3% of the time against 50.0% priced. That is 3.7 points toward the under, below the 5-point threshold. No bet on the total.
The spread is Cavaliers -10.5 at -118 and Nets +10.5 at -102. It opened Cavaliers -11.5 and Nets +11.5. Cleveland won by 11 or more in 16 of its 41 home games. Brooklyn won, or lost by 10 or fewer, in 19 of its 41 road games. Our count has Cavaliers -10.5 landing 46.3% of the time against 51.7% priced, a gap of 5.4 points toward Nets +10.5. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so that is a lean on the same side, not a second bet. One bet on this game: the Nets at +380.
