Montana Grizzlies

Backing the Grizzlies as underdogs made 4.06 units in 2025-26, six wins in 14, and only 54 Division I teams did better on that bet. Laying the price with them lost 2.24 units, so with Montana the plus number was the one to own.

The plus-money side

The best of the six underdog wins was the first: 102-93 at UNLV in November at +450. Two more came in January on the road, 79-73 at Idaho and 64-60 at Portland State, both at +180. In the conference tournament they won twice more as underdogs, 95-89 over Northern Colorado at +154 and 75-72 over Portland State at +140, before Idaho won the final 77-66.

As favorites the Grizzlies went 9-7 straight up and covered exactly half of their 16.

January

Seven wins in ten, eight covers in ten, 3.64 units, with a 98-72 win at Northern Arizona as 3.5-point favorites the widest margin of the month. Every other month lost money or made less than a unit, and February gave 2.03 back at 3-4.

Home and away

Montana covered 8 of 13 at home, 61.5%, and 6 of 14 on the road. Overall the spread came out 16 covers to 14 misses. The home floor had a bad November: Lamar won there 68-63 against -210 and Oakland 95-87 against -205, and Montana Tech, a school outside Division I, won 82-75 there in December in a game with no line.

The opponents

Portland State was met three times and lost all three, Montana covering each, for 4.07 units. Montana State won both meetings and Montana missed both spreads: 76-67 on the road with the Grizzlies getting 5.5, then 82-71 at home with Montana laying 2.5 at -135.

The total

Fourteen overs and 16 unders in 30 lined games. Two games either way is no lean on a Montana total.
