Tarleton State Texans

The Texans covered nine of their first ten spreads of 2025-26. From January they covered 5 of 18, went 4-14, and lost 10.8 moneyline units.

Nine of ten

Tarleton State’s first ten spreads produced nine covers, the one miss a 96-60 loss at LSU getting 15.5. Several came as heavy road underdogs, 96-76 at SMU getting 21.5 and 94-81 at Baylor getting 23.5, and one was an outright win at Rice, 90-74 at +175. The record by the end of December was 10-4, four of the wins over opponents with no line posted.

Then the conference

January was 1-7 with a single cover and 6.13 units lost, the worst month of the season. The six defeats after a 3 January win over California Baptist included Abilene Christian 84-80 at home at -198 and Southern Utah 106-105 away at -185. March was 0-2. From January to the end the Texans were 4-14 and covered 5 of 18.

Underdogs and the road

As underdogs they won 3 of 16 and the moneyline lost 8.99, while covering 8 of 16. On the road they were 4-11 but covered 9 of 15; at home 10-6 and 5 of 12. Over 28 priced games the moneyline lost 10.65, and 43 Division I teams lost more.

The WAC

Abilene Christian was met four times. Tarleton State won once, 65-62 at home on 16 February at +102, and lost the other three, the last 84-78 in the WAC tournament’s first round. Utah Tech and Utah Valley won all three of their meetings each, and the Texans covered one of the six.

The total

Tarleton State’s 28 totals finished 15 over and 13 under, with the Texans scoring 74.53 points a game and allowing 73.41, close to level on both counts.
