From 17 January they won eight straight and finished 13-3, covering 12 of those 16 games. January ended 6-3, February 6-2. New Orleans and Nicholls both lost the rematches, by 19 and 20 points on the road.

McNeese, three times

McNeese won two of three, but UTRGV covered all three, getting 9.5, 11.5 and 8.5. The Vaqueros won the first 79-76, and the last meeting ended their season, 84-80 in the Southland semifinal, a day after an 86-68 win over Nicholls. Stephen F. Austin won both meetings.

Eighteen of 31 totals went under. UTRGV allowed 69.48 a game and scored 75.91.
