Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Hotspur Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Take Crystal Palace at Tottenham Hotspur. Our number has the visitors at 47.1%, the market has them at 17.4%, and that gap is the bet.
DraftKings lists Tottenham Hotspur at -180, the draw at +350 and Crystal Palace at +450. Those three prices carry a 4.7% margin, the extra a book builds in so the prices add to more than 100%. With the margin removed, the market reads Tottenham 61.4%, the draw 21.2% and Crystal Palace 17.4%.
We have Tottenham at 27.5%, the draw at 25.3% and Crystal Palace at 47.1%. Crystal Palace sit 29.7 points above the market. The draw is 4.1 above, short of the line. Tottenham are 33.9 below. The threshold for a bet is 5 points, so one outcome clears it.
How 47.1% is reached
Each side’s expected goals start from the league’s average goals at that venue. That average is then scaled by the side’s scoring rate at its venue and the opponent’s conceding rate at the other venue, both measured against the league average. A Poisson model on the two expected-goal figures gives the home win, the draw and the away win.
Both clubs run on their 2025-26 venue records, against that season’s averages over 380 games: 1.53 goals a game for the home side and 1.22 for the visitor. Tottenham’s home scoring was 0.76 of the league’s home rate. Crystal Palace conceded away at 0.97 of it. That gives Tottenham 1.12 expected goals.
The other half is where the number turns. Crystal Palace scored away at 0.95 of the visitor’s rate, and Tottenham conceded at home at 1.33 of it. That gives Crystal Palace 1.54 expected goals. A visitor with more expected goals than its host is not a +450 side by this method.
Tottenham at home, Crystal Palace on the road
The method uses one half of each club’s season. Tottenham at home in 2025-26 went 3-6-10 (wins, draws, losses) in 19, scoring 1.16 a game and conceding 1.63. Crystal Palace away went 7-3-9 in 19, scoring 1.16 and conceding 1.47. The splits leave neutral-site games out.
The halves the method leaves out point the same way. Tottenham were better away last season, 7-5-7 with 1.37 scored and 1.37 conceded a game. Crystal Palace were 4-9-6 at home, scoring 1.00 and conceding 1.21. The price looks like it is built on Tottenham’s name and Crystal Palace’s bad start. The venue records from last season read differently: Tottenham won 3 of 19 at home.
This season so far
None of this season is in our number. Eight games in, Tottenham are 14th of 20 with 9 points from 2-3-3, 8 scored and 10 conceded. Crystal Palace are 17th with 7 points from 2-1-5, 9 scored and 19 conceded.
The early venue records cut against the bet. Tottenham are 1-1-2 at home, scoring 1.25 a game and conceding 1.50, both a little better than last season’s 1.16 and 1.63. Crystal Palace are 1-1-2 away, scoring 0.75 and conceding 2.25, against 1.16 and 1.47 last season. In our view, if these four games a side counted, both would pull the number back toward Tottenham. Four games is a thin sample. It describes a month, and the method does not use it.
The season around it
Last season the two finished two places apart. Tottenham were 17th of 20 with 41 points, 10-11-17, 48 scored and 57 conceded. Crystal Palace were 15th with 45 points, 11-12-15, 41 scored and 51 conceded. Neither club has a goal difference this season or last that separates it from the other by much. The price gap of -180 against +450 is wider than either table.
ESPN holds five meetings since March 2024. Crystal Palace won three and Tottenham two. With Tottenham listed at home, Tottenham won 3-1 on 2 March 2024 and Crystal Palace won 2-0 on 11 May 2025 and 3-1 on 5 March 2026. With Crystal Palace listed at home, Crystal Palace won 1-0 on 27 October 2024 and Tottenham won 1-0 on 28 December 2025. None of the five enters the number as a meeting.
Pick: Crystal Palace +450
Crystal Palace to win at +450 on DraftKings, read 29 October 2026 at 19:23 UTC. Our 47.1% against the market’s 17.4% is a gap of 29.7 points, against a threshold of 5.
A gap this size is the method saying the market and last season’s venue records disagree badly. We side with the records.
What kills the bet
The price. Crystal Palace stay a bet at +127 or longer, against +450 now, so there is a lot of room before the call goes. On the other side, Tottenham become a bet at +325 or longer, against -180 now. The draw becomes a bet at +371 or longer, against +350 now. That is the closest of the three. If more than one outcome clears the threshold, the method takes the widest gap.
The team sheets. This page states nothing about who is available on 31 October. Check the lineups before you bet.
The sample. The number runs on 19 venue games a side from 2025-26. When this season’s records replace them, the early results above suggest the number moves toward Tottenham.
The total
The total is 2.5 goals, with the over at -165 and the under at +135. Without the margin the market has the over at 59.4% and the under at 40.6%. Our number has the over at 49.7% and the under at 50.3%, so the over sits 9.7 points below the market. The method never bets the goals, so this is for reference only.
Three of Tottenham’s 8 league games this season went over 2.5, and 5 of Crystal Palace’s 8. Last season it was 24 of 38 for Tottenham and 21 of 38 for Crystal Palace.
