On Sunday, September 7, the biggest game of Week 1 features a rematch between Playoff teams from last year, as the Buffalo Bills host the Baltimore Ravens in a clash of the AFC elite.
Before I go any further into this epic showdown, let’s nip something in the bud right now. Yes, technically speaking, the NFL Kickoff on Sep. 4, between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, falls under the Sunday Night Football banner.
However, it’s just silly to call that matchup a SNF game. So, you can find our breakdown of the Cowboys vs. Eagles contest in our weekly Thursday Night Football betting preview.
With that said, there’s a long way to go between now and this Ravens vs. Bills matchup. So, consider this Sunday Night Football betting preview as a primer for the upcoming season as we break down the two Super Bowl contenders, keep you informed on the latest SNF odds, schedule and more.
What Channel Is Sunday Night Football On?
- Sunday Night Football Channel: NBC/Peacock
- Sunday Night Football Time: 8:20
- Sunday Night Football Announcers: Mike Tirico and Chris Collinsworth
NBC and Peacock will be home to 20 NFL games under the Sunday Night Football banner. This includes the opening kickoff of the season, a Thanksgiving Day game, and Christmas weekend.
Sunday Night Football Song
When Sunday Night Football debuted in 2006, singer-songwriter Pink sang the theme song for SNF. She reworked Joan Jett’s “I hate Myself for Loving You” and retitled it “Waiting All Day For Sunday Night.”
From 2007-2012, Faith Hill took over for Pink to a mixed reaction. In 2013, Carrie Underwood has been the SNF singer. Since then, Underwood and NBC attempted a few different opening songs but they were met with a furious backlash. So, they returned to “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” as we wait for the upcoming SNF game.

Keep an eye on the latest NFL odds for SNF and monitor how the lines change from now until kickoff.
The opening SNF odds indicate that we’re going to have a high-scoring shootout that will most likely come down to the final possession and a few points.
Last year, these teams played twice with the matchups unfolding into complete opposite results, which we’ll explain in more detail below.
This year, the oddsmakers believe that both franchises are more than capable of winning the game. For the Baltimore Ravens, being a +1.5-point underdog on the road is almost an Even line.
For the Buffalo Bills, being a home favorite of just 1.5 points indicates that the sportsbooks feel these two teams are evenly matched.
The 51.5-point Total is the largest for Week 1. And, that’s because these teams were two of the top scoring offenses last year.
Speaking of last year, I went an incredible 14-4 SU on Sunday Night Football predictions. After a rough start to the season, I finished on a heater going 10-1 SU to close out the year.

Sunday Night Football Matchup
The Ravens and Bills have played against each other 13 times since 1999. And, it’s Baltimore who holds a slight advantage with a 7-6 record. However, both teams are 5-5 in the last 10 meetings.
Additionally, Buffalo has gone 3-1 SU in the last four meetings including the two Playoff matchups in 2025 and 2021. The Bills are 4-1 SU in home games versus the Ravens.
Last year, Baltimore steamrolled Buffalo in Week 4 by the score of 35-10. It was Buffalo’s worst loss of the season. However, the Bills got revenge in the Divisional Round of the Playoffs when they beat the Ravens 27 to 25 in a thrilling postseason game.
Sunday Night Football Predictions
Let’s take a look at the participants in the Sunday Night Football game tonight, and make our winning NFL picks:
Baltimore Ravens Sunday Night Football
For most of last year, the Baltimore Ravens were one of the best teams in the league. After their slow start, they just plowed through the competition with a physical brand of football. This led to the Ravens having one of the best offenses in the NFL.
Baltimore was third in scoring (30.1 ppg), first in total yards per game (426.5 ypg), red zone TD conversion (73.97%), and second in TDs per game (3.8).
The Ravens offense was powered by its smash-mouth running game that led the league in yards per game at 192.8 ypg. King Henry and Lamar Jackson formed one of the most feared rushing duos in the league.
Jackson also had a strong passing season as well. The team finished 7th in passing yards at 233.7 ypg and Jackson had the 4th lowest sack rate.
Baltimore added a few role players on both sides of the ball to shore up depth and develop their younger players. This team should be just as good as they were last year, which should scare the rest of the AFC North.
Buffalo Bills Sunday Night Football
Buffalo has won the AFC East five straight years and they are favored to win it again this year. However, if they do, it won’t be just because of Josh Allen the 2024-25 NFL MVP.
Buffalo’s front office made a big-time effort to improve their defensive side of the ball after this unit failed to slow down the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. Once again, Allen played great but the defense fell short.
The Bills added Joey Bosa, brought back Tre White and Dane Jacks at corner, and drafted over a half dozen defenders in the 2025 NFL Draft. With these additions, along with a healthy Matt Milano, Buffalo’s defense appears to be deeper and more talented on paper.
Offensively, Buffalo was very similar to Baltimore in regards to being one of the elite units in the league. They were second in scoring (30.6 ppg), second in Red Zone TD conversions (69.62%), second in 4th down conversions (74.19%, and seventh in 3rd down conversions (44.21%).
Buffalo also boasted of the 9th best rushing attack (136.7 ypg), the 11th best passing attack (361.2 ypg), and the 10th most total yards per game (361.2 ypg).
The Bills added a few playmakers on offense to help out Allen like receivers Joshua Palmer and Elijah Moore. Keon Coleman will be fully healthy after suffering an injury last year that forced him to miss games and play at less than 100%.
Who Is Winning Sunday Night Football?
If this game was in Baltimore, I would’ve given them the edge. However, it’s in Buffalo, and that Bills Mafia will be wild for the season opener. Both teams have a lot to play for and a Week 1 win will go a long way towards tie breakers at the end of the season.
With that said, I believe the Bills will outduel the Ravens in a fantastic matchup. Look for Buffalo’s defense to show a new intensity and level of play. And, the newly married Josh Allen will show why he was the MVP of last season.
