NHL Starting Goalies Today: Expected Starters and Save Percentages

NHL starting goalies for Monday, October 19: the eight goalies ESPN listed as probable starters for the four games, as its scoreboard showed them at 2:32 a.m. Eastern on Monday, October 19.

ESPN marks each listing with a status, and every one at this read said “Expected”. That is a projection, not a team announcement: teams often name their starter after the morning skate, and a late scratch can still change it. The page is rebuilt during the day, and the time at the top is the time of the read.

Expected starters

Save percentage is the share of shots on goal the goalie stopped. This season is 2026-27, from ESPN’s statistics; the record is wins, losses and overtime losses, and the last column is his 2025-26 regular season, whichever team he played for.

What the numbers say

Of the expected starters, Dylan Garand of the Rangers has the best save percentage so far, .927 on 123 shots in 6 games, and Yaroslav Askarov of the Sharks the lowest, .848 on 132 shots in 5. Askarov (.848 now, .884 over 47 games last season) is running at least 20 points of save percentage away from last season, a gap a few weeks of shots can open and close.

A change in goal can move the moneyline and the total, so a bet placed before the starter is named carries that risk; the lines below were read at the same time as the goalies.
