The 2021 Masters is in the books as Hideki Matsuyama won his sixth career PGA TOUR victory and first Major. Matsuyama was not the favorite to win last week and he’s out of the field for the upcoming RBC Heritage. That puts Dustin Johnson as the leader coming in as the sole player at +1000 or below.
Johnson was the favorite last week at Augusta National but missed the cut after carding a 74 on Thursday and a 75 on Friday. That missed cut does not seem to be bothering too many oddsmakers as Johnson comes in as a solid favorite in a stronger than normal RBC Heritage field.
That being said, the Heritage is a tournament that is known for producing first-time PGA Tour winners over the last several seasons. Four of the last five to be exact! However, the defending RBC Champ is Webb Simpson who comes in hot behind Johnson at +1200.

Be ready for everything from Ocean breezes to misty rain and pristine fairways to marshy areas that hide golf balls! Harbour Town is a beautiful course that can lure players into a false sense of security.
Going long may not be the best method for players at Hilton Head so look for the leaders to make full use of their irons. Irons, short irons, and wedges setting up putting opportunities will be the game plan for many.
That’s in stark contrast to the way players approached Augusta last weekend where many tried to blast their way through fairways in search of birdie opportunities. They will still be looking for birdies of course, but the way they knock off strokes will look a bit different from last week.
2021 RBC Heritage Predictions
Webb Simpson +1200
Webb Simpson is the defending RBC Heritage Champion as he downed Abraham Ancer by one stroke last year. Simpson went 22 under (262) for the tournament which was the lowest in RBC heritage history. Last week he finished the Masters T12. Simpson can show off his iron skills this week.
Abraham Ancer +2500
Like Simpson, Ancer can make full use of his irons this week. And, he’s accurate from the tee without being overpowering. He’s 2nd on Tour fairways hit and 14th in GIR which means he’s using everything in his bag right now. Ancer has five top 25 finishes this season with a T26 at the Masters.
Will Zalatoris +2500
Will Zalatoris is showing why he’s becoming a favorite among fans and oddsmakers. He finished the Masters in second place only one shot back of Matsuyama. He shot a 68 on Friday to make the cut comfortably and followed that up with a 70 on Sunday.
Others I Like: I’ve liked Corey Conners (+2800 for the RBC) a few times this season and this weekend is no different. He finished the Masters T8 with two rounds under 70 with a 68, and 69. I hate to push Dustin Johnson too far down my list but he looked out of sync at the Masters and has failed to make the top 15 in five RBC Heritage tournaments.
