Timberwolves vs Magic Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Bet the Magic at +105. Our number gives Orlando at home 53.2%, and the price gives them 46.8%.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are -125 and the Orlando Magic +105 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 53.2% for Minnesota and 46.8% for Orlando. Last season’s home and road records put Orlando 6.4 points higher than the market. We bet at 5.
How 53.2% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Games at a neutral site are in neither half. Orlando played three of them and Minnesota none.
The Magic went 25-15 at Kia Center, a 62.5% home win rate over 40 games. The Timberwolves went 23-18 on the road and lost 18 of 41, a 43.9% road loss rate. The midpoint is 53.2% for Orlando and 46.8% for Minnesota.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At -125 and +105 they come to 104.3%. With the margin taken out, the Timberwolves are 53.2% and the Magic 46.8%. Our number and the market’s are mirror images: each side gets the other’s figure.
Both teams played on Wednesday 21 October. Orlando lost 132-125 at home to the Atlanta Hawks and is 0-1. Minnesota won 131-106 at the Miami Heat and is 1-0. Our number reads 2025-26 only, so neither game is in it. The number also misses whatever changed on both rosters over the summer. That is the main risk in this bet.
Orlando at home, Minnesota on the road
At home the Magic scored 116.0 points a game and allowed 114.2, a margin of 1.8. The Timberwolves on the road scored 121.2 and allowed 118.2, a margin of 3.0. On points alone Minnesota’s road half is the better one. The method counts wins and losses, and on that count Orlando’s 62.5% at home is the larger rate.
The method leaves out two halves. Minnesota at home went 26-15, scoring 114.8 and allowing 111.1. Orlando on the road went 19-20, scoring 115.5 and allowing 115.4.
The season around it
The Timberwolves finished 49-33, the sixth seed in the Western Conference, and outscored opponents by 3.4 points a game. The Magic finished 45-37, the eighth seed in the East, at 0.6 a game. Minnesota won by 10 or more 28 times and lost by 10 or more 18 times. Orlando did each 19 times.
In games decided by 5 points or fewer, Orlando went 19-12 and Minnesota 11-12. Orlando played five overtime games and Minnesota four. In the playoffs the Timberwolves beat the Denver Nuggets 4-2 and lost to the San Antonio Spurs 4-2. The Magic lost to the Detroit Pistons 4-3.
The Magic won both meetings. On Wednesday 8 April 2026 in Orlando they won 132-120. That game is in our number as one of the Magic’s 40 home games and one of the Timberwolves’ 41 road games. On Saturday 7 March 2026 in Minnesota they won 119-92. That game is in neither half. Two games prove nothing on their own, and our number does not lean on them.
Pick: Magic +105
Bet the Magic on the moneyline at +105. The gap is 6.4 points toward Orlando, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Magic +105 and Timberwolves -125 on 22 October 2026 at 20:59 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Magic -102 and Timberwolves -118. Since the open, the market gives Minnesota 1.5 points more and Orlando 48.3% has become 46.8%. The move is what made this a bet.
What kills the bet
The bet dies if Orlando’s price gets shorter. With the Timberwolves at -125, the Magic stay a bet down to -107. At +108 or longer the Magic are a bet whatever Minnesota is priced at.
For the Timberwolves to become the bet, they would need +139 or longer whatever Orlando is priced at. Against the current Magic +105, they would need +185 or longer. They are -125.
ESPN’s game page, read 22 October 2026 at 20:59 UTC, lists four Orlando players out: Anthony Black (ankle), Jonathan Isaac (knee), Noah Penda (hamstring) and Izaiyah Nelson (ankle). It lists one Minnesota player out, Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles). The method does not use the list, so it does not change the number. Check the lineups before you bet.
Our number still gives Orlando a 46.8% chance of losing. The case is that +105 pays more than that risk warrants, on last season’s evidence.
The total and the spread
The total is 237.5, with the over at -112 and the under at -108. Last season the Magic’s home games went over 237.5 in 12 of 40, a 30.0% rate. The Timberwolves’ road games went over in 21 of 41, a 51.2% rate. Across all 82 games, Orlando went over 25 times and Minnesota 28. Orlando’s home games averaged 230.2 points and Minnesota’s road games 239.4.
The average of the two venue rates is 40.6% for the over. With the margin removed, the over is priced at 50.4% and the under at 49.6%, so our count leans to the under by 9.8 points. Our method stakes the moneyline only. This is a lean, not a bet.
The spread is Magic +1.5 and Timberwolves -1.5, both at -110, unchanged from the open. Against that line, the Magic at home covered in 26 of 40 games and the Timberwolves on the road covered in 23 of 41. Averaged, Magic +1.5 lands 54.5% of the time against 50.0% priced. That gap of 4.5 points is below the threshold and on the same side as the pick, so it is a lean too. One bet on this game: the Magic at +105.
