The Terrapins were underdogs 24 times in 2025-26 and won five, two of them inside four February days at +400 and +440. Maryland covered half of those 24.

Getting points, most nights

Maryland went 12-21 and spent most of the season as the team getting points: 24 games as an underdog, 5-19 straight up, 12 covers and 12 misses. Backing the Terrapins to win in those games lost 4.75 units. As favorites they were 7-2, but covered only four of nine.

The season against the spread came out 16-17. At home Maryland was 7-8 straight up and 7-8 on the number; away it won twice in 12 and covered six. At the Players Era Festival in November the Terrapins beat UNLV 74-67, then lost 100-61 to Gonzaga and 105-72 to Alabama on the next two days, at +900 both times.

Four days in February

Here is the stretch to know. On 8 February Maryland won 67-62 at Minnesota at +400. Three days later it beat Iowa 77-70 at home at +440. Those two games turned February into a 4.85-unit month at 3-5.

January had gone the other way: 1-6 and 5.17 units lost. Over the season the moneyline finished 5.11 down across 31 priced games. The third-longest price that came in was in November, 89-82 at Marquette at +290.

Iowa, three times

Iowa won 83-64 in December, lost the February game, then ended Maryland’s season 75-64 in the Big Ten tournament’s second round, a day after the Terrapins beat Oregon 70-60. Maryland covered two of the three Iowa games and made 2.4 units on them. Rutgers won both meetings, the second 69-65 at Maryland with the Terrapins at -225.

Scoring and the total

Maryland scored 69.7 points a game and allowed 76.58. Eighteen games went over, 15 under: no lean.
