Favorites were the trap

As underdogs, 6-12 straight up, the 18 moneylines made 1.49 units. As favorites, 9-5, the 12 priced games lost 4.14, and only 24 Division I teams lost more backing themselves at a short price. The worst was at home on 8 February, 67-62 to Maryland at -535.

Big Ten repeats

Wisconsin won both meetings; Minnesota covered one. Rutgers lost 80-61 at Minnesota on 21 February, then won the Big Ten second-round rematch 72-67 with Minnesota at -265. Indiana split two, and the +380 win left 2.8 units of profit on the pair. Baylor knocked them out of the College Basketball Crown in the quarterfinals.
