Vmi Keydets

The Keydets lost their final 17 games of 2025-26, from 7 January through the Southern Conference tournament. Backing VMI in all 29 priced games lost 21.81 units, and only Air Force lost more.

The moneyline

VMI went 6-26, its longest win streak two games. As an underdog, 26 times, it won twice: 86-70 over Loyola Maryland at +130 in December and 79-71 over Chattanooga at +220 on 3 January, the last win of the season. Favored only three times, VMI won one of them, on the road in November. The underdog moneylines lost 20.5 units; two Division I teams lost more that way.

Two home covers in eleven

At home the Keydets covered 2 of 11, 18.2%; two teams were lower and two matched it. On the road they covered 7 of 15, mostly inside big numbers: 82-57 at UCF getting 25.5, 95-81 at Mercer getting 18.5, 81-67 at East Tennessee State getting 16.5, 82-76 at Wofford getting 13.5.

For the season VMI covered 9 of 28, 32.1%; five Division I teams covered less often and three matched it.

The streak

The 17 straight defeats began at East Tennessee State on 7 January. February went 0-8 with two covers and cost 8.0 units. Six straight spread misses ran from 10 to 29 January.

Opponents

UNC Greensboro won all three meetings, the last 84-70 in the Southern Conference tournament, and VMI covered none. Chattanooga was the only opponent met twice that VMI beat; it covered both of those games. The Citadel won twice, once at VMI with the Keydets favored at -258.

The total

VMI allowed 80.0 points a game, and only 34 Division I teams allowed more, yet 16 games went under and 13 over. All three games on neutral floors stayed under. There is no total angle in that split.
