This is going to be an exciting matchup as two of the league’s elite offenses battle on Monday Night Football to close out Week 3. Both teams are Super Bowl hopefuls and sport 1-1 records coming into this highly anticipated showdown.
The Detroit Lions bounced back in a big way after a dreadful Week 1 performance against the Packers. They put up 52 points against the Bears last weekend and everything seems back to normal in Motown.
The Baltimore Ravens also bounced back from an emotional letdown versus the Bills in Week 1. They trounced their divisional rival Cleveland Browns in Week 2, and are averaging over 40 ppg.
Currently, this game is expected to be a one-score affair, according to the latest NFL betting lines. With that said, let’s dive deeper into the latest MNF odds, courtesy of the top sports betting sites, and make our Week 3 NFL predictions for the Detroit Lions vs. Baltimore Ravens.

Monday Night Football Matchup
These two NFL Teams have played against each other seven times and it’s the Baltimore Ravens with a commanding lead in this series. The Ravens have gone 6-1 all-time versus the Detroit Lions. Furthermore, the Ravens are a perfect 4-0 SU in home games versus Detroit.
These two teams last played against each other in 2023, and the Ravens crushed the Lions 38-6 in a home contest. Detroit hasn’t defeated Baltimore since 2005.
The Over is 2-1 in their last three meetings. Over that span, the Ravens have averaged 33.6 ppg to 14.33 ppg for the Lions. Additionally, the Ravens have averaged 420 total ypg to the Lions at 331.33 ypg.
Monday Night Football Predictions
Let’s take a look at the participants in this week’s Monday Night Football game, and make our winning NFL picks:
Detroit Lions Monday Night Football
Detroit’s offense came alive in Week 2 when they put up 52 points. It was a strong bounce back performance after their pitiful efforts versus Green Bay in Week 1.
On the season, the Lions are averaging 32.5 ppg (3), 378.5 total ypg (5), and 267 passing yards per game (5). The run game, which was supposed to be one of the best coming into this season is only averaging 115 ypg (15). That’s a huge disappointment considering the talent in Detroit’s backfield.
Detroit’s defense had a decent outing against the Bears last weekend, as well. Yet, on the season, they’re allowing 24 ppg and 196.5 passing yards per game. Where they’ve fared well at is in the run game as they allow only 106 ypg (15).
For Detroit to have a shot in this matchup, they will need to find success on the ground as Baltimore allows 111.5 ypg. But the Ravens have given up 298 passing ypg which is the second worst in the league. Jared Goff should find success against this Ravens pass defense if the offensive line can hold up.
And, that’s a big “if” considering how much they were dominated by Green Bay’s pass rush in the opening week. While Baltimore’s pass rush isn’t as good as the Packers, they are better than the Chicago’s and that should cause some problems for Detroit.
Baltimore Ravens Monday Night Football
The Baltimore Ravens lead the NFL in points scored at 40.5 ppg. They’re the only team to put up 40 or more points in both games so far. The rush offense is 5th in the league at 141.5 ypg. However, most of that was done against Buffalo in Week 1, as the Browns held King Henry to pedestrian numbers in Week 2.
Lamar Jackson threw for 225 yards and 4 TDS versus the Browns as he carved up the inferior defense. Baltimore didn’t need to do much offensively, which was evident in their 242 total yards.
With that said, I expect the Ravens to run on this Detroit defense. The Lions aren’t known for being physical, and the Ravens can use that to their advantage by impressing their size and strength on Detroit, and allowing King Henry to steamroll them.
There are some concerns with the Baltimore defense though. While they gave up just 17 points to the Browns and 323 yards, the Ravens did get gashed by Buffalo for almost 500 yards. Detroit has a similarly explosive offense as the Bills do, and could put up some big numbers on Monday Night Football.
Who Is Winning Monday Night Football?
These are two of the top three scoring teams in the league, along with the Buffalo Bills. With that said, Baltimore’s offense is going to be too much for the Lions defense to handle. I expect the Ravens to score near 40 points again as Detroit is prone to giving up 420 ypg against Baltimore.
Furthermore, Baltimore is undefeated at home against the Lions and has gone 6-1 all-time in this head-to-head series.
I like for the Ravens to win this matchup. I also think that Baltimore covers the spread as they’ve gone 4-1 ATS in their last five versus Detroit, along with a 6-2 ATS in their last eight games.
Take the Over, as well. These teams combine for 73 ppg and they allow 53 ppg. The Ravens can put up 40 points easily, which means Detroit would have to score 12 points to hit this Over. I think we see the Total eclipse 60 points easily.
Bet: Baltimore Ravens -260, Ravens -5.5 (-110), Over 51.5 (-110)
Monday Night Football Prop Bets
Let’s take a look at some of the best Player props and Game prop bets for this Monday Night Football matchup:
Baltimore Ravens Team Total
- Over 28.5 (-115)
- Under 28.5 (-115)
The Ravens come into this MNF matchup leading the league in scoring with 40.5 ppg. The Lions are third in scoring at 32.5 ppg and give up 24 ppg. I don’t see the Detroit defense stopping the Baltimore offense. Instead, this game feels like whoever has the ball last, will win.
I expect plenty of fireworks and points on the board for both teams. As for the Ravens, there’s no way that they don’t score at least 30 points. In fact, I see them getting at least 21 points in the first half for this matchup.
If the Packers can score 27 and the Bears can score 21, then the Ravens can put up at least 35 points.
Bet: Over 28.5 (-115)
Both Teams To Score 21 Points Or More
- Yes (-120)
- No (-110)
I have been pounding the table for an offensive show this Monday. Both teams should easily eclipse 21 points. Even if Baltimore smashes Detroit by 20, I still see the Lions getting over 21 points.
Detroit’s offense woke up last weekend. Baltimore’s defense gives up the most passing yards per game. So, you can expect Jared Goff and this Detroit offense to score 24 or more points at the very least. And, I already laid out above, that I see Baltimore getting 35 points.
Bet: Yes, both teams score at least 21 points (-120)
Total Games Touchdowns
- Over 6.5 (+110)
- Under 6.5 (-145)
Last week, the Ravens and Browns combined for seven total touchdowns. In week one, the Ravens and Bills combined for 10 total touchdowns. Last weekend, the Lions and Bears combined for 10 total touchdowns.
I see the Lions and Ravens going over seven total touchdowns as this should be a high scoring game considering they’re two of the top scoring offenses in the league. And, both defenses give up a healthy number of points, as well.
Bet: Over 6.5 TDs (+110)
Best Bets For Monday Night Football
Check out our best bets for Monday Night Football:
- Baltimore Ravens -260
- Ravens -5.5 (-110)
- Over 51.5 (-110)
The Ravens are 6-1 against the Lions all time. They’re a perfect 4-0 SU at home versus Detroit. Additionally, Baltimore is 8-1 SU in their last nine home games.
I like for the Ravens to cover this spread, as I think this will be a game that they win by a touchdown. Baltimore is 4-1 ATS versus the Lions and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games.
Finally, these are two of the highest scoring teams in the NFL, as they combine for 73 ppg, while allowing 53 ppg. The Ravens haven’t scored less than 40 points this season so far, and the Lions just put up 52 points last weekend. I see this number easily going beyond 60 total points. 70 total points would not surprise me.

Monday Night Football Song
Monday Night Football’s theme “Heavy Action” has become a pop-culture staple as generations of fans will instantly recognize the theme song within the first few notes.
Yet, over time, broadcast networks have tried to retool the MNF song to add an extra layer of entertainment, importance, and relevance. For over two-decades, Monday Night Football belonged to Hank Williams Jr. and his hit “All My Rowdy Fans Are Coming Over Tonight.”
In 2023, ESPN debuted a new opening song. They took one of the 80’s biggest hits “In The Air Tonight” by Phil Collins and modernized it with an all-star collaboration from Christ Stapleton, Snoop Dogg and Cindy Blackman Santana. As of now, this rendition is expected to remain the Monday Night Football song for the 2025-26 season.
