The market has these two within 0.4 points of our even split. Pass on Flyers at Senators.

The Ottawa Senators are -112 against the Philadelphia Flyers at -108 at DraftKings. With the margin removed, that is a 50.4% chance for the Senators. Our number is 50.0%. The gap is 0.4 points, and the threshold for a bet is 5. There is no bet on either side.

How the number is built

The method is one clause: our home win chance is the average of the home team’s 2025-26 home win rate and the visitor’s 2025-26 road loss rate, with a win in overtime or a shootout counted as a win.

The Senators went 23-12-6 at home last season: 23 wins, 12 regulation losses and 6 losses after regulation. That is a 56.1% home win rate over 41 games. The Flyers went 23-14-4 on the road, so they lost 18 of 41, a 43.9% road loss rate. The average of the two is 50.0% for the Senators, which leaves 50.0% for the Flyers.

The market’s figure is the moneyline with the margin taken out. The margin is the few points a book builds into both prices so that they add up to more than 100%. Out of -112 and -108 it leaves the Senators at 50.4% and the Flyers at 49.6%.

It is a new season. Rosters change over a summer, and nothing on this page measures what changed. The 2026-27 season opened on 29 September, and no game from it is in these figures. The evidence is 82 games from last season, 41 at home for Ottawa and 41 on the road for Philadelphia.

The Senators at home, the Flyers on the road

At home, the Senators scored 3.39 goals a game and allowed 2.63. The Flyers on the road scored 3.39 and allowed 3.17. The visitor scored the same, 3.39 a game, and allowed 0.54 more.

The Senators were better at home. On the road they went 21-15-5, two wins fewer than their 23-12-6 at home, and the method uses only the stronger home half. The Flyers were stronger on the road: 23-14-4, against 20-13-8 at home. Their road half is the better one, and it is the half the method uses.

The Senators finished 44-27-11 with 99 points, scoring 3.39 goals a game and allowing 3.00, a margin of +0.39. They lost their one playoff series 4-0 to the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Flyers finished 43-27-12 with 98 points, scoring 3.05 goals a game and allowing 2.96, a margin of +0.09. In the playoffs they beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2, then lost 4-0 to the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Senators played 37 one-goal games and went 16-10-11 in them. The Flyers played 34 one-goal games and went 17-5-12 in them.

The teams met three times in 2025-26 and the Senators won all three. They won 2-1 at home on 23 October, 3-2 in overtime on the road on 8 November and 2-1 in overtime on the road on 5 February. Three games prove nothing about a fourth.

The price

The Senators opened at -125 and the Flyers at +105. At those prices the market had Ottawa at 53.2%, a gap of 3.2 points toward the Flyers, still short of the threshold. Read on 30 September 2026 at 00:50 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN, they were -112 and -108. The move toward Philadelphia has taken the gap from 3.2 to 0.4.

The two halves of our number cancel out. Ottawa won 56.1% of its home games and Philadelphia won 56.1% of its road games, 23 of 41 each. That leaves 50.0%, and the price already sits close to even.

Pick: pass (Senators -112, Flyers -108)

No bet. Our number is 50.0% for the Senators, the market’s is 50.4%, and the 0.4-point gap is far short of the 5-point threshold. On the Flyers side the gap is the same 0.4 the other way, so there is nothing there either.

It rests on 82 games, 41 at home for the Senators and 41 on the road for the Flyers, all from last season.

What changes it

The price. With the book’s margin at today’s size, and the Flyers held at -108, the Senators at +135 leave a gap of 5.0 points and become a bet. At +134 the gap is 4.9 and it is still a pass. With the Senators held at -112, the Flyers become a bet at +131.

The summer is the other thing. A season of home and road results says how these two teams played in 2025-26, and nothing on this page says who is in either lineup on 8 October. Check the lineups before you bet.
