Maple Leafs at Golden Knights Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

Our number is 57.3% for the Vegas Golden Knights and 42.7% for the Toronto Maple Leafs. A side is a bet when the market’s figure sits at least 5 points below ours.

How the number is built

The method is one clause: our home win chance is the average of the home team’s 2025-26 home win rate and the visitor’s 2025-26 road loss rate, with a win in overtime or a shootout counted as a win.

The Golden Knights went 20-12-9 at home last season. That is 20 wins, 12 regulation losses and 9 losses after regulation, a 48.8% home win rate over 41 games. The Maple Leafs went 14-21-6 on the road, so they lost 27 of 41, a 65.9% road loss rate. The average of the two unrounded rates is 57.32, which rounds to 57.3 for the Golden Knights and leaves 42.7 for the Maple Leafs.

It is a new season. Rosters change over a summer, and nothing on this page measures what changed. The evidence in hand is last season: 41 home games for Vegas and 41 road games for Toronto.

The Golden Knights at home, the Maple Leafs on the road

This number is built on Toronto more than on Vegas. The Golden Knights won fewer than half their home games, 20 of 41. The Maple Leafs lost 27 of 41 on the road, and that 65.9% is what lifts Vegas above 50.

On the road Toronto scored 2.88 goals a game and allowed 3.76, a deficit of 0.88 a game. At home it was 18-15-8, four more wins than on the road. Over the full season the Maple Leafs finished 32-36-14 with 78 points, were outscored by 0.56 a game (3.09 scored, 3.65 allowed), and played no playoff games.

Vegas at home scored 3.56 a game and allowed 3.10, so it outscored visitors by 0.46 a game and still won only 48.8% of the time. The difference sits in overtime. Nine of its home losses came after regulation, and across the season 26 of its 82 games went past regulation, with 17 of them lost. In one-goal games it went 16-10-17, which is 16 wins in 43.

Across the full season the Golden Knights finished 39-26-17 with 95 points and outscored opponents by 0.18 a game (3.23 scored, 3.05 allowed). In the playoffs they beat the Utah Mammoth 4-2, the Anaheim Ducks 4-2 and the Colorado Avalanche 4-0, then lost 4-2 to the Carolina Hurricanes.

The teams met twice in 2025-26, both in January, and Vegas won both: 6-5 in overtime at home on 15 January, and 6-3 in Toronto on 23 January. Two games prove nothing.

Pick: Golden Knights at -109 or better, Maple Leafs at +165 or better

With no line posted, the pick is a pair of prices. Our 57.3% for the Golden Knights, less the 5-point threshold, is 52.3%. A price of -109 or better (-105, even money and so on) puts them at or below that, and Vegas is a bet. Our 42.7% for the Maple Leafs, less 5, is 37.7%. At +165 or better, Toronto is a bet. Those are fair prices, with the margin taken out. A posted line carries a margin on both sides, so the posted pair has to be converted before it is compared. At -110 the Golden Knights gap is 4.9 points, and at +164 the Maple Leafs gap is 4.8. Both are passes.

It rests on 82 games, 41 at home for the Golden Knights and 41 on the road for the Maple Leafs, all from last season.
