Bruins vs Sharks Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

No bet on the Sharks at -122. Our number has San Jose 3 points higher than the price does, and a bet takes 5.

The San Jose Sharks are -122 and the Boston Bruins +102 at DraftKings. Strip the margin and that is a 52.6% chance for San Jose and 47.4% for Boston. Our number gives the Sharks 55.6%. The gap is 3.0 points toward San Jose, short of the 5 points that make a side a bet. Pass.

How a 100-point visitor ends up the underdog

The method, in a clause: our home win chance is the home team’s 2025-26 home win rate averaged with the visitor’s 2025-26 road loss rate, and a win in overtime or a shootout counts as a win. Neutral-site games are left out of both rates. That removes one Bruins game, described below.

The Sharks went 21-14-6 at home, meaning 21 wins, 14 regulation losses and 6 losses after regulation: a 51.2% home win rate over 41 games. The Bruins went 16-16-8 on the road. They lost 24 of 40, a 60.0% road loss rate. The average is 55.6% for San Jose and 44.4% for Boston.

Boston finished with 100 points and San Jose with 86, and the method ignores both totals. It reads only where the game is played. The Bruins won 16 of 40 on the road.

A book’s two prices always sum past 100%, and the excess is its margin. At -122 and +102 the sum is 104.5%. Take it out and the Sharks are at 52.6%, the Bruins at 47.4%.

The market has seen the Bruins’ road record too. It makes a 100-point team the underdog at +102, and our number goes 3.0 points further the same way. Ours is 41 Sharks home games and 40 Bruins road games from 2025-26. It contains nothing from 2026-27.

The Bruins away from home, the Sharks in San Jose

The Bruins went 29-11-1 at home, a 70.7% win rate over 41 games, and won 40.0% on the road. The goals moved with the results. At home Boston scored 3.54 a game and allowed 2.56, which is 0.98 ahead. On the road it scored 3.05 and allowed 3.48, 0.43 behind.

One Bruins game sits in neither split. On 1 February they lost 6-5 in a shootout to the Tampa Bay Lightning at Raymond James Stadium, a neutral site.

The Sharks at home scored 3.07 a game and allowed 3.46. They were outscored by 0.39 a game in their own building and won 21 of 41 anyway. On the road they went 18-21-2, a 43.9% win rate, scoring 3.05 and allowing 3.66.

Boston finished 45-27-10 and outscored its opponents by 22 over 82 games, then lost to the Buffalo Sabres four games to two in the playoffs. San Jose finished 39-35-8, was outscored by 41 and did not play in the playoffs.

San Jose’s record is better than its goals, and one-goal games are why. The Sharks went 22-5-8 in them and won 12 of the 20 games they took past 60 minutes. The Bruins went 20-8-10 by one goal and won 12 of 22 past regulation.

They met twice in 2025-26 and the Sharks won both in regulation: 3-1 in San Jose on 23 November and 4-2 in Boston on 12 March. Two games are an anecdote. The method leaves them out.

Pick: No bet on the Sharks -122

Pass on the moneyline. Ours is 55.6% for San Jose and the market’s is 52.6%. The 3.0 points between them fall 2 short of the threshold.

The opening line was Sharks -122 and Bruins +102, unchanged at the read on 12 October 2026 at 16:04 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN.

How far the price has to move

On the home side, a short distance. The Sharks become a bet at -102 or better, whatever the Bruins are priced at, and they are -122 now. The Bruins need far more: +154 or longer, against +102 now.

A price can move for a reason this page does not hold. It says nothing about either lineup on 13 October, so check both before you bet.

The total, and a puck line priced above last season

The total is 6.5, over +110 and under -130. Sharks games went over 6.5 in 42 of 82, and Bruins games in 42 of 82 as well, a 51.2% rate for each. San Jose’s home games averaged 6.53 goals. So did Boston’s road games.

The over at +110 is priced at 45.7% with the margin removed, against the 51.2% both teams posted. The gap is 5.5 points. The method bets the moneyline only, so a gap of that size on the total is a lean: over 6.5, at +110. Weigh it as two 82-game rates from 2025-26 and no more.

The puck line has the Sharks -1.5 at +195 and the Bruins +1.5 at -238, or 32.5% and 67.5% with the margin out. San Jose won by two goals or more in 17 of 82 games. Boston lost by two or more in 19 of 82. Averaged, Sharks -1.5 lands 22.0% of the time and Bruins +1.5 lands 78.0%, against 67.5% priced. The gap is 10.5 points toward Bruins +1.5, a lean at -238 on the same terms as the over. Neither lean is the call on the game, which stays no bet on the Sharks at -122.
